Watching some games from 2009 - offense then and now

Who was blaming playcalling? I was talking about the overall execution of the offense. That goes from evaluating your personnel to teaching during the week to game planning. And like I said, the O line then was hardly 92-93 quality. Flo was okay, Free is at RT just like now, our Gs now...

SB Nation 1st Round Mock 10/11/12

You got that right. I'd hurl if we took a safety at #17. Don't think Vacarro is that great, anyway.

Watching some games from 2009 - offense then and now

I'm the last guy to defend Garrett. Well, maybe I'm behind UVA. lol But seriously, I'm trying to figure out the real actual reasons for the drop off in production. It doesn't look like our plays are exactly the same and teams know what's coming. Or maybe that's the problem, that we aren't...

Watching some games from 2009 - offense then and now

Been watching some games from 2009 the last couple of days, and I can't help but notice how much better our offense is. The difference is ridiculous. And it's not like that was some Hall of Fame O line, or Marion Barber was Tony Dorsett. Tony is still getting pressured plenty, but we're...

    VP Debate

It isn't important to me that he not get credit. I already said that if the same thing had happened under Bush, I wouldn't give him much credit either. And I sure wouldn't call him a hero.

    VP Debate

Seriously? Those were huge strategic decisions that had to be made. Decisions that took huge guts and the right strategic moves with truly disastrous consequences if things had gone wrong. In this case we've been trying to kill OBL since 2001, under two different presidents. It probably...

    VP Debate

You really think he deserves credit for killing Bin Laden? To the point of being a hero? How many other presidents do you think would have said when we had him in our sights, "Naw, let him go?" I get why some people like Obama, but getting Bin Laden would be about the last reason I can think of.

Cowboys work out 16 players today

Was wondering what his deal was. I thought he was a good player, too. Don't know the story on why GB released him.

Trench Warfare: 2007 - 2012 Draft Pick Allocation By Team

Good work. One, I personally don't like lumping in the DL and the OL together. I know they're both "trenches", but I think our DL (counting the OLBs in this defense) is fine - it's the offensive line that is killing us. Two, like MB said, some of the bad teams have taken more OL than we have...

    Chip Kelly for Head Coach

Not that I'm saying hire him by any means... He may never want to leave and may hate the NFL. But maybe you got the wrong Kelly. Brian Kelly seems like a pretty good football coach to me. Really just wanted an excuse to bump this awesome thread.

Ndamukong Suh, Detroit Lions DT, rips anonymous GM

Bob told you that? I don't think 100% would take Suh over Ware, either. Obviously this guy wouldn't. The criticism of Suh does seem pretty extreme, though. Say he hasn't lived up to the hype, okay, I guess. But say his sacks are all garbage and he takes plays off? That's pretty serious.

    I'm feeling optimistic

I had the same thought about the 2-2 being the same as that 2009 team, but like theebs said, we didn't really fail to compete in those losses. We lost to the Giants on a last-second FG and then Marshall made that long plays in the last couple minutes of the Broncos game. It's still possible...
