California county administrator to get $423,644 a year -- after retirement

No one's bagging on them as people. You're taking this too personally, dodger. It's just an untenable situaton financially.

Signing Will Allen once we clear space

Looking back on it, WTF was John Garrett (or Jason too) thinking when they were so convinced Fasano was too dumb to play? Not like Fasano is great, but he's solid enough and he's proven he can play in the league. Seriously, I wonder what the story was behind that. I really think that plus...

Is Kyle Wilbur a complete loss here?

I don't see where he has a spot in this defense. He's cheap enough that it doesn't hurt to wait and see, though.

Signing Will Allen once we clear space

I don't know why we haven't cut Vickers already. Thought it was a good signng at the time, but last year looked like he can't play anymore.

    Romo extension close

Agreed, Dalton is the kind of QB who looks good when he's young and you've had nothing, but he's never going to be a big winner unless he has a great defense. Pretty much the definition of bus driver. Kind of like Matt Schaub. He's the exact reason people who hate on Romo are nuts. Odds are...

Michael Huff, two others visiting today

The fact that we're scraping around the bargain barrel for safeties like Huff and especially Allen kind of says it all. Glover Quin is exactly the kind of safety we need, a guy who is an up-and-coming young player instead of some retread, and he didn't exactly get a fortune from Detroit. But...

California county administrator to get $423,644 a year -- after retirement

Exactly, and it's not just cops. Lots of municipal workers put in insane OT their last year or two to bump up a pension that they will be getting for 30 or 40 years. And that pension can be far more than the average private sector worker makes in a year. It's total insanity.

Justin Durant - Has agreed to terms

If he can't beat out Sims, this signing is a fail.

Justin Durant - Has agreed to terms

Cool. Just the kind of solid, mid-priced vet we needed for that SLB spot.

Dolphins: New logo coming in 30 days

But the Bucs were a joke at that point, where the Fins are still one of the more storied franchises in the league, even if it's been a long time since they did anything. I dunno, I just don't think every logo has to be so super serious and intimidating looking anyway. It's just a logo. Put...

Giants' Coughlin rips into overweight Pierre-Paul

I heard Greg Ellis on the Fan a couple weeks after the season ended, about the time all the talk was about Jerry neutering Garrett. He said yeah, all the players know Jerry is the real boss, and it does make a difference sometimes. Wish he'd talked more about that, but whatever dumbass host...

Michael Huff, two others visiting today

Why would we do that? I thought he played pretty well last year (relatively) and he doesn't make a ton of money.

You're right, the fact that he didn't immediately run out of there like a lunatic with a dozen uzi-wielding secret service men means it was an inside job. It matters because I watched it all live (beyond the second tower) and there was plenty of coverage of Bush's reaction. It wasn't unusual...

    WTC 7

Again, how did you expect the president to act? To start kicking over chairs, or what? Do you remember that day at it unfolded, or are you saying this all with the benefit of hindsight? One thing I do believe was covered up was that 93 was shot down. And I understand why the truth wasn't...
