Norv Turner and A.J. Smith to be fired at season's end.
By Gregg Rosenthal
The housecleaning is coming. And the San Diego Chargers won't go halfway.
Kevin Acee of U-T San Diego reported Thursday that general manager A.J. Smith and coach Norv Turner will be fired at the end of the season...
You were done before you started. You seem to be the only one of that opinion that KOs are a waste of time. If it's a safety issues, punt returns on average are more dangerous to players than kick returns.
If Thornton is projected as a 5th round draft pick... what makes you think he can come in here and start on day 1? Those are the kind of players, especially on the OL that we need.
How the fuck is kickoffs a waste of time? Maybe you never played football and maybe you did but you never played on kickoff unit, because if you had... it's the most fun part of football. There's nothing like running down field at full speed and laying out a plyer if you can.
Just to piggy-back off of this dbair, but it would appear that the gimmick offense is potentially putting Griffin in harm's way. How many hits do they think he can continue to sustain, without it having an impact?
I'd almost say the Eagles. But you have Vick there, and he's a coach killer.
The Cowboys appear to be the more talented out of the list, but that's all undone with Jerry at the helm.
Maybe the Chargers, but then you have A.J. Smith.
I had this. Except, I had Warmack at LG and Livings at RG, and Parnell at RT. Instead of Bernaduiea at Center, I still would want Kowlaski.
But that's quite an impressive draft. Hope it turns out like this.
What's your plan B?
We're going to draft more TEs and more ILBs, some WRs, and CBs. Because even though we don't need those positions... we draft the best player available to do otherwise would give the appearance of being desparate.
Don't forget the homecooking by the refs. Lousy officiated game. I've never seen so much uncalled holding committed by the Redskins. Giants are the second least penalized team in the league, and yet they had 6 penalties in just the first half.
I've never seen Reid ice his own kicker.
I've never seen Reid with 4 seconds left in the half and on his own 20 yard line, call a play with the expectation of marching it 80 yards in just 4 seconds, that resulted in a fumble and the other team scoring, and eventually win the game.
I'm inclined to agree with all of this, especially Reid needing a good DC. Romo certainly would be the best QB, Reids ever had that's for sure. Murray would be the second best pure RB that he's had---McCoy is first, and Westbrook was the better all-around RB than either McCoy or Murray, but he...
