The point is, Stephen (I think, or maybe it was Jerry) came out later and said that's who they would have taken. So it wasn't just a rumor. And it was also shortly after that draft, so it wasn't like they only said it after those guys turned out to be good players.
Yeah, we'd be so much better off with Brockers and Wagner. Sad that didn't happen.
And Scandrick played surprisingly well last year. We might not even have had to use a high pick on a corner.
Yeah, the Skins could make this work, but I have a feeling it's more likely they fall apart.
Still think they'll be tough because RG3 will be 100% which he never was last year. Don't know if Gruden will add much, though. How could anyone know?
I think he's just reached that age where he doesn't know what's going on. Didn't he say at some point in there (don't want to listen again) something like, "You're a nice white-Asian girl" and she said "I'm black and Hispanic"... And he just ignored it like he didn't even hear what she said?
I could definitely see that. I've always felt like Jerry likes to repeat his (rare) successes, and last year was seen as a success. So I could see him trying to do the same thing again in dropping down some and taking a 1-tech or DE who isn't worthy of 16.
Could also see them moving up a few...
Oh, I gotcha. You wouldn't take him at all.
I haven't read much about what the top teams are thinking, but I could see Jax taking him with Bradley there and all the comparisons of JM to Russell Wilson. Plus their needing to sell tickets.
Manziel #1 surprised me, too.
And getting his 40 at 4.56... Wasn't his official time like a mid-4.7? Pretty huge difference there. Although 4.5x seems more like it considering all the long runs he had though defenses with some pretty talented players.
Funny, I've heard of Donald Sterling for 20 years or so now but I've never seen a pic of him until now. Looks appropriately crazy.
Like GDRB said, what he's saying doesn't even make sense since his gf is a minority herself. So weird.
I do think something is a little wrong with the fact that...
I'm sure some would have been, but a lot wouldn't have.
I always thought part of our terrible drafting from about 2000-2002 was due to lousy coaching. Parcells took a liking right away to Willie Blade... If he'd had Parcells from Day One he might have had a productive career.
^^ But Garrett would be finished and we'd be set up with a QB of the future and a high draft pick for the next coach who has a clue.
Editing to add I don't think it will happen largely for the reason you gave. Jerry isn't going to trade up for that high-profile a player and not play him.
I...
