The point is, Stephen (I think, or maybe it was Jerry) came out later and said that's who they would have taken. So it wasn't just a rumor. And it was also shortly after that draft, so it wasn't like they only said it after those guys turned out to be good players.

I'm sure some would have been, but a lot wouldn't have. I always thought part of our terrible drafting from about 2000-2002 was due to lousy coaching. Parcells took a liking right away to Willie Blade... If he'd had Parcells from Day One he might have had a productive career.
