It’s time to move on from Dez

Oh my......please stop. You're killing me man. I'm almost tempted to delete this part of your post to protect you before more people read it. In any event, even if this was true, Montana played in a system that preferred those short passes to running the ball. Dak plays in an opposite...

DMN: Why the Cowboys need to start wheeling and dealing right now

When your livelihood depends on success or failure, you don't take a vacation on one of the most important days in your profession. It's really not a hard concept. Can you tell me if another NFL GM took a vacation the first day of FA? I'll wait. It's OK to be critical of Jerry every once...

    Would we dare?

They weren't taken with their "first" pick which is what you posted. The traded with Philly in 2016 and gave up a franchise QB in Wentz. Then they traded down again with Tennessee. You take the best QB when you're picking that high. And if he busts, you pick QB again with a high first round...

My apathy is at an all-time high

This is such an arrogant post, as if you know what "all fans" think or somehow you speak for them. The only place I see this type of homerism is on-line and mainly at CZ. I mean, Jerry can't even show his wrinkled mug on the big screen of his own stadium because the fans boo him. It would be...

It’s time to move on from Dez

So I'm sure you didn't think much of Marino or Elway (pre-Terrell Davis). It took a new coach with a new philosophy to get Elway multiple rings. Funny how that happens. Romo gets plenty of blame and I never said the guy was flawless. But I certainly think he was a good enough QB who had the...

    Would we dare?

It hasn't worked for them because they don't do it. The Browns haven't taken a QB with their first pick since 1999 (Tim Couch). They've taken more OL than QB's. Before 1999, it was Kosar in 1985 in the supplemental draft. So really, you've proven my point.

    Would we dare?

I would take a QB every draft until I got it right and there's nothing wrong with giving Dak some competition. Or we can all pray for Cooper Rush......

It’s time to move on from Dez

What are you playing, semantics? One of the criticism of Dez is that he can't run more than a few routes. In any event, I found the video interesting.

Whose passer rating? Dak's? Please man......just stop.

It’s time to move on from Dez

Team passing records ain't shit? Whatever. That's just a stupid comment to make. It means you've got a quality QB....a franchise QB. The team didn't have any success. We got what we expected out of a QB. A guy that's accurate, has a good enough arm and can read defenses. He was a...

It’s time to move on from Dez

You're entitled to your opinion and nothing either of us will say about Romo will change the other's opinion. Like I said, if Dak has half the career Romo has had, statistically speaking, he'll give the team a chance to win. But right now, I'm just praying he breaks 50 yards passing in the...

It’s time to move on from Dez

You attributed his success to having three years as an "understudy." You didn't expand and it's a pretty simplistic point of view. Having the benefit of learning from other QB's is certainly a benefit, but the coaching staff identified something in Romo to keep him around to develop. Darren...

Zeke's Offseason Eating Habits A Possible Concern

Good post and completely agree. The red flags started last season when the idiot showed up out of shape. He lacked the stamina, burst and wiggle in his game and it showed early on. Any real coach would have benched his ass until he got into shape. It's a country club for sure. Everyone...

It’s time to move on from Dez

It means we're watching flag football. It's a completely different game today. Of course the salary cap plays a role but every team has to make decisions under those constraints. But the game has been geared towards the offense. No one wants to watch a 7 to 3 football game. If you see that...

It’s time to move on from Dez

By this logic, then a guy who sat on the bench for 3 years should be just as successful but we both know that's not the case. I do think that Romo had the benefit of better coaching that identified his potential and knew what had to be reigned in. You may not like what he accomplished in...

It’s time to move on from Dez

If you think Romo is a product of his era and just average, then what does that say about Dak? If Dak has half the career Romo had, we should consider ourselves very lucky. Romo has the fourth highest passer rating in NFL history. I wouldn't call that average. And I would agree that...

It’s time to move on from Dez

And what of the other receivers that disappeared? It wasn't only Dez and I don't think one receiver topped 1000 yards receiving. That's pretty tough to do in today's NFL. In any event, we can find another #1 receiver. It much more difficult to find a QB.
