    Let the McCarthy era begin

Yes Sir. A real football man who earned his stripes surrounding himself with real football people. I don't know if McCarthy is going to be successful here but he gives this team a chance to find it's way out of the wilderness. I'll admit, I'm a grumpy old man but I really like this hire.

    McCarthy - Zimmer. Same thing

A lot depends on who the QB is. As you may have guessed, I'm not sold on Prescott so how can I expect this HC to win it all with him? What I do expect is to give this team a chance to succeed, to understand game and clock management and to utilize the talent effectively. I also expect this HC...

    Let the McCarthy era begin

He can write his own ticket to Washington. I can half see if it was one of the big boy programs but he's going to Washington where it'll be nice and comfy not worrying about national championships or SB's. Good riddance.

    McCarthy - Zimmer. Same thing

This......the safe pick would have been Zimmer. Jerry's going outside his comfort zone. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm sure Jerry discussed the GM details and Jerry's ownership style. But McCarthy is going to run the field.

    McCarthy - Zimmer. Same thing

My point was that one has a ring and one doesn't. I get it, you need to have a QB but you also need to have a HC. He ran an offense with Jeff Blake and Arron Brooks in NO. He had to deal with the Brett Favre vs Aaron Rodgers fiasco and even Favre speaks highly of him to this day even though...

    McCarthy - Zimmer. Same thing

You must be new to these parts and message boards in general.

    McCarthy - Zimmer. Same thing

Zimmer and McCarthy are the same thing ehh...? This is Dallas Cowboys fan logic. That's why fans can say (and believe) that Garrett is Landry, Johnson, BB, etc. It's not the same thing. One guy has a ring, the other doesn't. It's like saying Afghanistan is the same as Montana because they...

    Let the McCarthy era begin

These wretched little pricks. They're like cockroaches....two peas in a pod. He's learned from Garrett to be sure. What young coordinator, who aspires to be a HC one day, would leave the NFL and the big stage (in Dallas), working for a SB winning and offensive minded HC, to go to the college...

    Let the McCarthy era begin

Good. Let him go to the college game. It just goes to my point that none of these frauds would work under a self-made man and have to earn their keep and be held accountable. Let him go to the college game where he should have started his coaching career and toil there for a few years like...

Will Jason Garrett get another head coaching job in the NFL?

The Giants fans would absolutely implode. No way they hire this dolt. I think the Giants are just doing a favor for Jerry to make it look like someone might actually be interested in the most unqualified HC hired by Jerry or anyone else, for that matter.

Terrell Owens Stamps on Dallas Star

Thanks. That guy spiking the ball on the star looked familiar. He deserved to get his ass kicked.

Day After Thoughts- New Coach Edition

McCarthy and Nolan change this team's mindset almost immediately. I never bought the idea that the players were motivated by Garrett's gay signs he hung all over the building. And Garrett never seemed to engage the players during the game to do the little things like.....you know, coach. I'm...

I never saw that....when did that happen?

Will Jason Garrett get another head coaching job in the NFL?

I wouldn't worry about it. He's done and will now have to start at the bottom with no top cover. The only thing he could do without any real accountability is working the booth but I'm not even sure anyone will want him there either.

Will Jason Garrett get another head coaching job in the NFL?

Never happen. Too big a stage for him and Princeton wouldn't want him. Sure Dallas was a far bigger stage but he had Jerry as cover. He won't get any cover anywhere else. Fucking slimebag.

Day After Thoughts- New Coach Edition

Good post David. This team is going to change and the brand of football is going to change with it. It's inevitable. Next year is all about evaluating Dak. And a guy like McCarthy is going to use the talent available and not be a slave to his system. Same with Nolan who I thought was a 3 -...

Day After Thoughts- New Coach Edition

I don't think this was a safe pick at all. Of course, it all depends on what your definition of "safe" is, as it may be completely different from Jerry's definition. McCarthy is not a Jerry guy and Jerry went out of his comfort zone. I mentioned earlier that Jerry had to get a guy with...

    Let the McCarthy era begin

Exactly. I respect a HC who earned his way through the ranks as an unpaid assistant, to quality control, to QB coach, coordinator and HC. He and Garrett are absolutely nothing a like.

    Let the McCarthy era begin

Cooper Rush may not be long for this team unless he shows something and I'd be shocked if McCarthy didn't draft a QB in the middle to late rounds to groom. Dak's clock is ticking and he has no more excuses. And neither do you guys (ie: Dak apologists) either.
