Qusstion:
If you had to go cheap on one position, (and in the Salary Cap era, you have to) what position would that be? No FB's or Punters. Too easy. Every down players on Offense or Defense.
Well in his defense, when faced with an impossible situation AND in a mentally impared state he still had the presence of mind to turn it into an attempt to take out a receiver off an NFC playoff contender.
That's got to account for something, right???
Yeah.........no.......not really........
I agree. If he was a surefire no. 1, he wouldn't have still been there in rd. 3.
He seems to be a guy who can catch a ball and run to the spot where he is actually supposed to be. There's a lot to be said for that.
Everything is opinion until training camp.
I get it, but...
TE: Swaim is not bad, adequate. Gathers showed flashes of being a receiving TE in preseason. If he doesn't have to retire due to concussion issues, he might develop.
WR: I like Gallop. I like the other WR they drafted, too. We might be a year away at the position. Beasly is...
Only one S in the 1st 32 picks and that was at 32.
It's really too early for this to mean much but maybe we need to look more closely at the FA market for a FS.
I'd take the lineman.
Of course, I think you could make a better determination after free agency and what other teams put out there after roster reductions. Do we need a superstar safety or can we get by with merely a good one? I'd take Thomas in a heartbeat but this isn't Madden. You can't...
,..and that HoFer's backup, and the only heathy LB we had. Regardless of how you felt about them, they are holes to plug. And when you're plugging the new holes, you can't fix the old ones.
I'm not saying long-term it might not be better, but short-term, we're treadng water.
Overall, I like the choices. We had a lot of needs. The problem is, it's like bailing water out of a leaking boat. We lost a lot, too. Short term, I don't think we gained any ground this year.
This year.
Yeah, I can't see the Earl Thomas thing happening now. Maybe they'll cut him and we can win the bidding war. I don't see any special TE left. I guess we're going to roll with what we've got.
Ok, maybe Deon Cain, WR Tall, decent 4.4 speed, had a formal visit with the Cowboys during the Combine or the Lazard kid from Iowa St. Slow, but really tall. Maybe a red zone WR target since Witten is gone.
