SBK is high on this guy, and he seems to have the athletic ability to do the job. I'm just hesitant to project him as being a factor at safety this year due to his recent trend of injuries resulting in a lack of playing time.

Stunning numbers. And what makes it even worse is that both Phillips and Pasqualoni both designed the defense to avoid giving up the big play. The flip side is the defense played soft on the underneath passes also. If an offense needed 3 yards a quick out was always there.

That's a very valid point. Doug Free is 320lbs. Off the top of my head I don't know of a defensive end who out-weighs him. And yep he played well at RT. And there was one statistical service who considered him one of the best run-blocking LT's in the game last season. Someone may not like...

Overwhelming bulk doesn't mean you're a good run blocker. Quickness, leverage and tenacity are very important.

I think the whole "road-grader" thing at RT is passe'. Defensive ends are getting smaller and smaller... relying on speed rather than brute strength to rush the passer, meaning you don't need a 330lb right tackle. The guy has to be able to move and use leverage. I think Free or Smith can be...
