I paid attention to Wilcox last night ... he looked good (other than the one time he slipped ). After Wilcox left the game and the scrubbiest of the scrubs came in, the Dolphin receivers were wide open. WIDE open.

He looked like a true 4-3 DE last night. Appropriate size and quick too. It isn't unreasonable to hope he'll be an o.k. sub when a starter needs a break. Time will tell.

I never saw the wisdom in asking one of the best-ever pass rushers to drop back into coverage. Sometimes coaches & GMs out think themselves. If you have a best-ever pass rusher, you need to figure out a way to have that pass rusher rush the passer as often as you (and he) can. Give him plays...

It could be that the subtle change in his position will be good for him. Being able to use both arms is a plus too. If the secondary is improved, that could add some coverage sacks to the total.

Listening to Garrett, it sounds like Leary is seen as having a significantly greater upside than Kowalski. The coaches hope Kowalski can overcome physical limitations through learning better technique and being more crafty. Leary is seen as already having the size, quickness, and explosion...
