The Pottsville Maroons have a place in NFL history. Personally, I think it is a pretty great name. The word's other meaning is kind of funny in this context, though.

The fan experience .... airport security checkpoints now at every stadium, the wife can't take her purse, undercover police, criminally overpriced food and drinks, inconvenient and often pricey transportation/parking options, etc. I thought entertainment was supposed to be fun....

I do think the rulebook is a problem. It is too complex to be enforced reliably. I don't have a firm opinion about corrupt officials. It seems unlikely if not preposterous to me, but then again with so much money potentially involved, it would be naive to think such a thing is not possible.

He's right. Still, I'm just glad that the team didn't manage to give the game away. Over the past several years the Cowboys have managed to lose several games that shouldn't have been lost. For a while there on Sunday night, it looked like it might happen again.

I agree Mid .. it is odd. I guess it is possible that bettors have been turned off by the team's ability in recent years to lose in the most infuriating of ways. Romo's current national reputation seems to be of a guy who is cursed and/or who chokes. Could be that bettors have lost confidence...

I don't know if it is true, but a week or so ago I heard one of the Cowboys beat reports say that the current DB coach has the DBs working with the JUGS machine more than any previous Cowboys DB coach. The Giants had a makeshift OL last night. I'm sure that made things easier for the Cowboys...
