Panthers beat the Dolphins this week. Coming off of the SF and New England victories, Miami was a potential trap game. Bucs are next. Then the Panthers play the Saints in weeks 14 and 16, which is pretty strange. Jets are week 15 and Falcons, week 17.

I saw only a bit of the game, but saw the catch that was ruled incomplete. Didn't the incomplete occur during Romo's final drive? If so, the refs did the Cowboys a favor. Otherwise Dallas would have scored too quickly and given Eli a chance to rip out Dallas fans hearts.

The local Pig was bought out and is now a Bi Lo. I have no loyalty to grocery stores (there's a shocker). The wife and I go to several different ones. In approximate order of frequency: Kroger Publix Piggly Wiggly / Bi Lo Sams Club Food Lion

Although I am very happy and proud to be a new Carolina Panthers fan, I'm experiencing some survivor's guilt after reading this thread. How and why is it that I managed to escape the madness when so many of my internet buddies couldn't?

The team's GM absolutely sucks. No other team would ever hire him. But he can't be fired because he's the owner. And so the team wallows in mediocrity. That's the mind-numbing fact of the matter. Calling fans "spoiled" doesn't change that. .... Sturm, now bored with continuing to discuss...

The Panthers really do look good. The defense is very high quality and they are playing inspired. Newton is maturing and playing within himself. Steve Smith still plays with fire. A couple of quality RBs. It is something to see how the Panthers have had so many injuries at guard that a DT...

True, but over time the IQ of Cowboys fans will continue to drop (as smarter fans quit the team) until only persons with significantly below average IQs will self-identify as Cowboys fans. People with significantly below average IQs often have speech impediments. So the begging and chanting...

And the silly thing is that as more protections are put into place, offensive coordinators will take advantage of the rules and will push the envelope more .... and at the end of the day, the QBs will continue to have the injuries, because the offensive coordinators will assume that more plays...

I used to say the same thing and I absolutely believed it. Then the worm turned. I'd have never guessed that after nearly 45 years, that I had it in me to leave them. It is still hard for me to believe, but I like it. Anyway, to each his own.

I hate that tonight's game is, well, a night game. I'd like to see it live, but I am not going to screw up my sleep for it. So I'll record it and watch later on in the week. Win or lose, it'll be better than watching Jerry's Kids.

Very true. I'm not quite ready to give up the NFL yet (although I dislike what the game has become), but I can quit the Cowboys now.
