Tony Romo on changing plays at the line

What? He did that all the time. Remember the 2008 Redskins game where we had like 60 pass plays and 8 running plays? That was all because of what the Skins defense was doing. But hey, no surprise this guy is basically throwing Romo under the bus and blaming someone else for shit he used to...

Tony Romo on changing plays at the line

Yeah, saw someone saying that the other day and I totally agree. Watch other games around the league and at least occasionally you see receivers schemed wide open with no one around them. That almost never happens with us. It's always something closely contested.

    Trent Richardson traded to Colts

So Richardson was a "subpar" player... I doubt any GM in the NFL would have said that last year. The other side of the trade is the Colts, who have made a lot of good moves the last couple of years. So they're just that dumb? And edit, just saw that... Richardson was a substantial...

Tony Romo on changing plays at the line

LOL I think so about the playbook, too. And that's setting the Garrett hate aside for a second. All those years we had a system where you basically count the defenders in the box and check out of a run play to a pass play if necessary. It was very simplistic. We don't know exactly what the...

Tony Romo on changing plays at the line

Welcome aboard. Really though... Sorry to say it again, but this is why you bring in a Holmgren or Chuckie or someone who knows what it takes. Not someone groping and guessing and spouting cliches. It may already be too late for Romo. Sure hope not.

    Trent Richardson traded to Colts

What would you want for him? He's played well this year and at a greatly reduced price.

    Trent Richardson traded to Colts

That's exactly what it is. I'd be so mad if I were a Browns fan. Now they just have to hope the Colts have a terrible year. A lot of picks in the 20s are only decent players.

    Trent Richardson traded to Colts

I'd absolutely take Weeden for cheap enough. I think he can play. And I know Lombardi was a GM with the Raiders, but the Raiders sucked a lot of that time and who knows what he did anyway with Crazy Al making calls. I thought he had all kinds of goofy opinions on NFLN. Plus he had a lot of...

    Trent Richardson traded to Colts

How the F do you hire that guy to be your GM? A guy off the NFLN set? I mean, I wonder how great Richardson was really going to be because he takes a ton of punishment. But I don't think that means you just give him away for a pick that might be in the 20s.

NCAA Player You Want to See in Dallas

Used to be Bears Lions Eagles Steelers(?)... Don't know after that. Anyway, I'm not really a "first round guard" guy... Think you need to take more of an impact position most times. Ideal for us would be a DE or DT. But how about this guard from Baylor, Cyril Richardson? No problems with...

BTB - Quick Take: Cowboys @ Chiefs, By The Numbers

He's right that if you play close games you're more likely to lose via a bad bounce or fluky play or what have you. But I can't believe whoever wrote this claims it's some strategy to play close games and let Romo win at the end. There's no way that's the case. We'd love to jump out to a...

Dez Bryant has a big day, but he misses two more big ones with a drop and a PI

Am I the only one who didn't think the PI call on Dez was bogus? He extended his arm and held the DB off, and you can't do that. If he'd shoved him with his elbow like Collinsworth said, he'd have gotten away with it, but extending your arm all the way like that is a red flag for the refs.

Claiborne catching heat from the fans

Yep. And I didn't say Carter sucks. I know he's a good solid player and I'm glad we have him. But some people sort of had him penciled in as a future star for the next six or seven years and I'm not sure he's there yet.

Claiborne catching heat from the fans

What's frustrating is the team actually told us who they would've taken and they both turned out to be pretty good players. How solid would our D be if we had Brockers at 1-technique and a LB trio of Lee, Carter, and Wagner? And that reminds me... Has Bruce Carter been overrated a little...

    Realists View

Good post but this caught my eye because I was thinking the exact same thing watching them play Thursday night. How much do they wish they hadn't traded down with us in 2010 and had stayed and taken Dez themselves?

    I want to punch Romo.

What is this... I missed it. Only thing I saw yesterday was one time Tony was talking all animatedly to Garrett about something and Garrett was just sort of looking off to the side, like he was barely listening. Seems like that's how Garrett always reacts to him. It's weird.
