and will be much more valuable to the 49ers Superbowl hopes than whoever they would have drafted in the 6th round.
Meanwhile, you'll be telling us how our prize UDFA is going to start for us down the road.
Ronald Leary you bastards! Ronald Leary!
Hopefully the Cowboys are still going after free agents and if they find someone they really want we can quickly restructure Romo and/or cut Free to clear up room.
I just hope we aren't sitting out free agency like we did in 2009. We have too many holes to not at least talk to these guys.
A sleeper can be a pet cat but a pet cat does not have to be a sleeper.
Under the radar guys and sleepers are probably the same thing.
Taylor Mays was very much my pet cat 3 years ago. He was always rated as a 1st or 2nd rounder.
Two years ago, Tyron Smith and Patrick Peterson were my pet...
"Pet Cats" are guys you like, regardless of projected round they will be drafted. It came from people getting mad when their guy wasn't drafted referring to people protecting them like an old maid and her pet cats.
"Sleepers" are your mid round and late round guys.
Your welcome.
Agree with that. Romo gives us a chance regardless of crappy O Line play. Deadbeats like Sensabaugh and McCray not covering anyone will cost you way too many games.
I still want O Line but improved Safety play and more of a pass rush is probably the quickest way back to the playoffs.
A week ago I would have agreed with you.
Then Jerry came out with his magic Romo comments, then we restructured Livings and Bernadeau, extended Costa, and didn't touch Free. Now I'm woried last year's line is this year's line with "awesome depth" from Ryan Cook and Jermey Parnell.
Suck on it...
who knows, he may be an added surprise and end up helping out this season. Counting on him to be a starter or even serious contributor is a bad idea.
The best part of him contributing anything at all will be bob telling us he was his guy all along and he liked him before the draft.
1(18) - Kenny Vaccaro, S, Texas
2(47) -Margus Hunt, DE, SMU
3(80) - Brian Schwenke, C, Cal
4(111) - Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina
5(144) - Brennan Williams, T, North Carolina
6(177) - Ace Sanders, WR/KR, South Carolina
Have at it.
even with those 3, Livings and Bernadeau(or Costa) would bring down the overall average.
but seriously, book ends of Smith and Armstead would do a lot to battle the speed/athleticism of the modern day pass rusher.
