    but IIUC, an affidavit is a written statement, these peoples testimony at this hearing are not "affidavits" and they are not sworn in so whatever is said at this thing does subject anyone to risk of perjury am I mistaken?

    what is this event? There was a prayer at the start (about the 1:50 mark) of this thing that would have caused peoples heads to explode (not mine) had it been at a government venue. So this leads me to think this isn't a formal legal proceeding and anyone testifying isn't under oath, etc
