    Who you got? Week 8

It might because he's amazing, but at least several other good teams have lost their kickers this year, and the replacements have done well so far -- KC, Philly, even the Skins.

Yeah, that would shock me. I've been disappointed in Switzer. I thought he might be a better Beasley, but so far he looks like a worse one. Plus, Beas is cheap. Makes me wonder if there's something behind the scenes going on with him. Then again, he hasn't done much this year for some...

    Who you got? Week 8

I'd normally pick Washington because I've been impressed with them this year, but seeing how beat up they are, I'm going Dallas. The Skins OL barely has anyone healthy.

I don't think it's fair to attach race to the comparison, either. Dak reminds me (and a lot of other people) of McNabb in that he has that shortish (for an NFL QB), thick, strong build that makes him really hard to sack. I can't really remember a white dude like that. I still think a better...

How the Cowboys averted disaster and squashed the 49ers like an ant

Ha, well, yeah. I'm not saying talk draft yet, though, just that we might hold off a little on the playoff talk. Beat even a depleted Skins and I think you can start thinking those things again.

I can't imagine what they've been thinking the last couple of years. All the draft picks in the world don't mean anything if you don't have a quarterback.

How the Cowboys averted disaster and squashed the 49ers like an ant

Speaking of playoffs and Superbowls, Sturm is on the ticket pumping us up, saying no one in the NFC scares him, and going through playoff scenarios. Anything is possible, of course, but do you guys think that's realistic? Feels to me like he's a little too excited about beating up on a horrible...

How the Cowboys averted disaster and squashed the 49ers like an ant

Right, because Garrett has a history of preserving huge leads.

All those injuries last night just highlight how healthy we are yet again. Skins may have lost their starting RT, Pro Bowl RG, maybe even their center. Plus Norman is still out. Eagles lost their excellent LT and LB on top of the guys already missing like Sproles and the Bills corner they...

Interesting Brad Sham note on late 80's with Landry

I'd say "weird" is being charitable. Switzer was just the only head coach Jerry knew, and the only one who would accept keeping the entire staff on board.

Would you give up those 3 Super Bowls? If so, what for?

Yep, that play still gives me chills. Full TV with Summerall and Madden (start at 3:40): 1993/01/17...NFC Championship...Dallas Cowboys vs San Francisco 49ers... - YouTube

Yep, Bailey is amazing. I think we've all forgotten what it was like to *not* expect every kick to go dead down the middle.

Interesting Brad Sham note on late 80's with Landry

Exactly. My Jerry hate has zero to do with firing Landry. That's just Sham making excuses for the last 20 years, acting like fans are unreasonable.

I bet he's just now getting in shape. Still think he was overweight and out of condition at the first of the season.

Interesting Brad Sham note on late 80's with Landry

I remember reading theebs saying something like that once. And wasn't Shotty going to hire Wade Phillips for DC?

Would you give up those 3 Super Bowls? If so, what for?

Nobody would argue that Jimmy wasn't amazing. We all know how great he was building and coaching that team. But in this hypothetical, how long do those days compensate for Jerry's Reign of Error and not winning anything today? Ten more years? Twenty?

Would you give up those 3 Super Bowls? If so, what for?

It wouldn't have looked exactly the same and we probably wouldn't have won three SBs, but we still could have become an excellent team and won a title or two. We know we'd have drafted Aikman no matter who the owner was, and having a HOF QB in place is the biggest piece of the puzzle. Plus...

Would you give up those 3 Super Bowls? If so, what for?

Absolutely I would give up those three SB wins to have Jerry and his family (including Garrett) out of here. The past is the past and doesn't mean much now IMO. And who is to say the team wouldn't have won or contended with some other owner anyway?

    2017 Week 7 thread

I just didn't understand why the hell Zeke and even Dak were in the game so long. Especially Zeke. We were up 3+ touchdowns and they were riding him like Emmitt in an elimination game. Makes zero sense to me. Washington is going to be very tough so why wear him down any more than necessary?
