    2015 NFL Draft Thread

Chubb's success dampens my enthusiasm for Gurley, a bit. I think Gurley will be a successful NFL back. Far from certain that he'll be a phenom, though.

    McClain isn't coming back

What Jerry did over the past 20 years or so was horrible. I feel better about things now that Stephen is seemingly in the captain's chair. Don't know how good Stephen will be, but it seems obvious that he's an improvement.

    McClain isn't coming back

I think that's right. Most everyone saw this coming. We knew some team was going to pay for his highlight reel and ignore the times that he was benched. Good luck to him. The Cowboys drafted him when he was injured and thought his upside was worth the late start. In retrospect, it wasn't a...

    McClain isn't coming back

Carter is capable of turning in great plays; his issue is inconsistency.

    McClain isn't coming back

McClain was a very good stopgap last year, but apparently he's seen as too unreliable/unstable to be a long-term solution. Sounds like a "know when to say when" situation. Gotta be willing to walk away when it is in your best interest.

    Dallas signs Hardy

I agree jnday, Goodell has too much power. Hell, he not only told Adrian Peterson that he had to have therapy ... Goodell told Peterson which therapist he had to see.

Cowboys negotiating to sign Greg Hardy

From a PR perspective, it'd have to be tough to sign Greg Hardy and draft Jameis Winston during the same off season.

Cowboys negotiating to sign Greg Hardy

I've seen Garrett quoted as mentioning character as a part of RKG, and then splitting character into a couple of components, one of which is "football character." Also note that Garrett specifically mentions Michael Irvin as an RKG.

    Only downside to signing Hardy...

If J. Collins slips, it could be another CB from LSU. ... which still would be more popular than picking a Tight End in the first round. Gil Brandt lists TE as one of the top three needs for the Cowboys coming into this draft. Gil has a touch of the Alzheimer's.

Cowboys negotiating to sign Greg Hardy

No, that's incorrect. An RKG “... is someone who loves to play football, who is very passionate about it, willing to work hard at it, willing to be part of a team, willing to be part of something that is maybe greater than himself." It refers to the player's attitude toward the game. There...

Cowboys negotiating to sign Greg Hardy

It depends on whether we are talking intent (malice) or outcome. Irvin's intentions were worse than Brent's, but the consequences of Brent's behavior were worse than Irvin's.

Cowboys negotiating to sign Greg Hardy

That's pretty much exactly what it means. March 26, 2012 Garrett describes 'the right kind of guy' and says ego is part of it Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said he wants players with ego. But the right kind of ego. “Ego in the context of what we’re trying to accomplish as a team,” he said...

Cowboys negotiating to sign Greg Hardy

Michael Irvin was an RKG and a neck-stabbing, coke-snorting philanderer. Roger Staubach was an RKG and an upstanding family man who often visited area high schools to speak at Fellowship of Christian Athletes functions. What Irvin and Staubach shared (as RKGs) was off-the-charts...

Cowboys negotiating to sign Greg Hardy

We've been through this RKG-thing before, but people still misunderstand what it means. Charles Haley and Michael Irvin were, under Garrett's definition, RKGs. RKGs are not necessarily nice, stable, morally upstanding people . RKGs are guys who are basically psycho about football. Ronnie...

Call it: Will DeMarco be a Cowboy next year?

Murray looks like he's on the way out now. If he's gone, the Cowboys need to add someone who can take the lead role in the RB rotation. What I dislike about the RB situation -- I simply don't get the Cowboys' fascination with Dunbar. He doesn't get (or merit) enough touches to be a...

Jerry Jones is the Worst Kind of Witness

What a lucky break to have Stephen waiting in the wings. Otherwise the Cowboys would be toast.

I'd like to know what the team expects from Ryan Williams.

By contrast, reports are that Free signed for 5 mill per year. Pretty strange. I'd much rather have Free.
