    2013 Season Game Threads Mega-Merge

RKG is his philosophy and the evidence for draft failure. High motor/high character does not mean athletic, playmaker, or dominating contributor. It means McSurdy.

    2013 Season Game Threads Mega-Merge

I'm fascinated by the Landry offense. How the formation starts, then shifts, then the play action to Walker which causes the outside rush to completely overrun the pocket. The downside to all of the set-up was Sherrard was really not open, and it looks like he was supposed to be farther down...

    White boy problems

Experts are reporting that Witten's blocking has diminished to a man running on a polished wood floor wearing only tufts of cotton on his feet. Wait a minute. No one is reporting that...well except a certain son of a son of a son of a barber. Here is the latest on Witten's decline: "Jason...

    How's your pet cat doing?

After the draft, BW Webb was my pet cat. Lots of qualities that seemed would translate well. But after the Oakland game, Webb just seemed on his way to the practice squad and a waste of a pick. Looked like a quicker version of Alan Ball. So I switched my pet cat to Jakar Hamilton. Brian...

Romo plans to change more plays at the line of scrimmage

He wants his system to remain the team's philosophy, which has certain "if/then" plays based on what the defense is showing. Callahan, Witten, and Romo have all commented that "it's Jason's system...." which I thought was just trying to insulate Jason from detractors, but now I wonder if its...

I was just saying how desperately Dallas needs a Thaddeus right now.

Barry Church learns to 'pepper down'

Agreed. Of course, as a Church it's more of a revival than a recovery.

Little to show for 2012 shopping spree

This. But to Newman's credit, he chased down Randy Moss from 5 yards away when Moss was a Raider. Parcells said that a bomb could go off and Newman would not take his eye off the WR. I remember his predraft description (not by some draft hack with wifi) including "often looks like the fastest...

Barry Church learns to 'pepper down'

Peppering down? Strange phrase. I was hoping, instead, that Church and the rest of the defense were going to raise their assault...not so much any of the other seasons. As long as Church can do it in the regular season game, great. Don't killshot your own teammate in preseason.

I heard that in the negotiation, Brian was going to take the minimum and put incentives in his contract. Frederick and Tyron called Waters and warned him, "No one is playing for Free. Be Leary of not making a Livings."

What? He is slow....really slow. And his running style is just a bunch of reluctance. The holes and opportunities that he had in the Oakland game would have been great gains for faster legs or players who don't get knocked around like he does...that is: Murray, Dunbar and Tanner.

Well said. Reminds me of Michael Dukakis wearing an army helmet sitting in a tank. Helmet was tilted a little and there was no inspiration except to be embarrassed for him.

    Day After Thoughts

Sure, that would be a good point if Armstrong never played had a successful game or down or series in the NFL. He already has experience that those others you mentioned did not have and showed he still is a functional WR; but then he also has speed that even worried Dallas when they played the...

Except that there is no true deep speed without him. All of the other WRs can get separation, get a burst to get deep, but Dez, Miles, Harris, and even Williams, have nothing truly threatening with their speed. Armstrong certainly does and Beasley certainly does not. Remember when Crayton would...

Liked what I saw from... --- Pendleton: had hands up at the line trying to knock passes away. Disruptive. And when the Raider jumped offsides in front of him, Pendleton pushed him down anyway.:towel ---Jared Green: dropped an easy one but gets open and knows how to stretch for the first down...
