Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

Who cares if its a run heavy or pass heavy era if they had about the same length of careers and have about the same amount of attemps? They had the same amount of chances to put up numbers in that case. Aikman, Fouts, Jim Kelly, McNabb.. all have around 5,000 attemps for their career.

ESPN - Which 3rd year WR will have the best career?

There was no debate in this thread was there? I said i'll bet anyone 100 bucks that Maclin has the better career. You said "whoa 100 bucks that's alot, blah blah blah." I said "then bet me". You said "Im a pussy blah blah blah..". Am i close? Or would you like to put up that 100 dollars...

ESPN - Which 3rd year WR will have the best career?

Clearly in referring to Jackson as a "superbeast" and Maclin as only a "complimentory WR" you are knocking one guy and building another up to be something way greater than he is. Clayton on the other hand, says that Jackson is nowhere near the talent that Rice was (correct) but that Maclin...

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

You keep saying that, but i keep showing all the records he's set and/or broken with just purely his stats, and you don't factor in postseason appearances at all either, or the receivers he had to work with.

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

Oh, and Hasselbeck has a lower ypc average, lower TD/INT ratio, lower QB rating, lower total yards, nowhere near as many postseason appearances, etc, etc.. come on now. Someone please give me some substance as to why McNabb shouldn't even be considered.

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

Jim Kelly lost 4 consecutive super bowls and he's in..

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

He adds up with Aikman, and Jim Kelly, and Moon. ..and i did throw a stat out there about active QB's. His winning percentage is third among all of them behind only Peyton and Brady.

ESPN - Which 3rd year WR will have the best career?

By the way, your comment about Maclin being nothing more than a complimentory WR and Jackson being a "superbeast" doesn't really mesh with what Clayton ACTUALLY said in his article. "Jackson clearly isn't Jerry Rice as a talent, but Maclin, as a No. 2 target, reminds you a little of John...

That should be an easy bet for you to take then, huh bud?

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

He's not overrated when you consider his numbers are on par with or better all the most recent HoF modern era QB's that i already listed, and you factor in that they all had at least one HoF WR to throw to for the majority of their careers. Alot of them had more than one. McNabb had 20 games...

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

McNabb gets shit on for everything. All the Eagles problems, now this crap in NFL Hell Redskin land was supposedly his fault as well. Show me a few articles where he's given a bunch of credit for anything? Or keep parading around like an imbecile with the talk of how his numbers may match up...

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

I compared his numbers with the most recent QB's to get in the Hall.. Kelly, Aikman, Moon.. he matches up, if not surpasses them. Im not going to list all the accomplishments again, but they are there for those who choose not to ignore them.

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

To be blunt, when considering QB's for the Hall, i do not buy that they consider what system the guy played in. They look at numbers and accomplishments. He has both. PSSS- Don't care what you're opinions of him are. They don't matter to the Hall committee either.

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

..and actually, there's already been national talk of considering him for the Hall. Its not like im just pulling this out of my arse. Google McNabb - Hall of Fame and you'll see its a topic that's been discussed quite a bit. He has the credentials and the numbers to be close enough for...

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

There will always be excuses, but when its all said and done, imo, McNabb will be considered in Hall talk for all his accomplishments i listed above. Also, i've compared his stats with alot of Hall QB's and they are pretty damn similar if not better. Jim Kelly, Dan Fouts, Aikman, Warren Moon, etc..

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

Compare McNabb's stats to those of Fouts.. then get back to me. Consider also that Fouts had 2 Hall of Fame WR's to throw to for a majority of his career as well, while McNabb had Owens for 20 games and then toiled with the James Thrash's and Todd Pinkston's of the world for the majority of his.

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

Someone show me some evidence that he's on the decline and i'll gladly take it into consideration. "Did you see him play last year bra?!!" ..is not evidence of that btw.

Donovan McNabb promises "a special season in 2011"

A big part of it is stats.. but if you want to go on merit, he took the Eagles to 8 postseason appearances in a span of 10 years, 4 straight division championships, 5 NFC championship games, and one super bowl. He's also a 6 time pro bowler and a NFC offensive player of the year. He also is the...

ESPN - Which 3rd year WR will have the best career?

Yup. By the end of their careers i'll put up 100 dollars against anyone that Maclin has the better numbers.
