    I agree. If he was a surefire no. 1, he wouldn't have still been there in rd. 3. He seems to be a guy who can catch a ball and run to the spot where he is actually supposed to be. There's a lot to be said for that. Everything is opinion until training camp.

    Only one S in the 1st 32 picks and that was at 32. It's really too early for this to mean much but maybe we need to look more closely at the FA market for a FS.

    I'd take the lineman. Of course, I think you could make a better determination after free agency and what other teams put out there after roster reductions. Do we need a superstar safety or can we get by with merely a good one? I'd take Thomas in a heartbeat but this isn't Madden. You can't...

    I hope you're right, but right now I just don't see our record being any better this year than last. Maybe I get more excited after training camp.

    ,..and that HoFer's backup, and the only heathy LB we had. Regardless of how you felt about them, they are holes to plug. And when you're plugging the new holes, you can't fix the old ones. I'm not saying long-term it might not be better, but short-term, we're treadng water.

    Overall, I like the choices. We had a lot of needs. The problem is, it's like bailing water out of a leaking boat. We lost a lot, too. Short term, I don't think we gained any ground this year. This year.

    Ok, maybe Deon Cain, WR Tall, decent 4.4 speed, had a formal visit with the Cowboys during the Combine or the Lazard kid from Iowa St. Slow, but really tall. Maybe a red zone WR target since Witten is gone.
