I still think you are failing to acknowledge the real culprit here was the Kurds.

The Trump Administration and Israel clearly had a plan in place to remove the Iranian government and had the Kurds done what they had promised this probably would have been over a few weeks after it started. But they didnt, they kept all the weapons they were given for themselves.

As much as I am sure Trump and his people would love to send in ground troops to wipe the Iranian mullahs off the map they know its political suicide and even worse it will also potentially cost us 1000's of military lives. They wanted the Iranian people to take the country back, not have to use our people for that.

It sucks, but this has the looks of another CIA failure (pretty sure it was reported they were the ones who were negotiating this with the Kurds). And when it comes to the CIA and deep staters, one almost has to wonder if this were botched on purpose.
So, just a Bay of Pigs thing or being incompetent enough to not have contingencies?

What was the contingency for Kurd failure? Peace talks?

Do we know the Kurds failed? We don't even know what they're supposed to do or when. Were they told to stand down?
They were told to pass all those weapons onto the Iranian people (not sure if it was a specific group).

Instead per reports, the Kruds (not a typo) kept all the weapons for themselves.

I believe the original reports also stated the CIA were the ones that arranged the delivery, which is why I say I am somewhat skeptical now of what actually happened. An armed Iranian group could have easily overrun the Iranian regime and the whole thing might have been over in a matter of weeks. Within days of the intense initial bombing both Trump and the Israeli's were publicly calling for the Iranian people to take the country, because they knew they'd had all those arms in place.

We have seen the CIA oppose Trump and help the deep state since 2016. Wouldnt surprise me if they did the same here.

They were far, far away from the capitol. I'm not even sure the veracity of any of the reporting about the Kurds. It looks like a red herring meanwhile we're doing exactly what every regime since 1979 has done -endless useless talks. Feckless.

Trump even said it himself, that it appears the Kruds kept the weapons.

Dooms trusts the CIA and Kruds more than Trump.
The whole Kurd thing is just nonsense. They would have to transport weapons over 1000 miles to distribute them where needed - the capitol. We can't even get starlink kits in country - to take advantage of Musk's free Internet promise. Never materialized.

You think we can get weapons across the Iran/Iraq border? Can't get starlink setups in there.

CIA failed Kennedy at Bay of Pigs right?

You do know the Kurds are already armed....right? I mean, did they find the guns they have in the desert? They're an ally and we've been arming them.

I trust Trump way more than the Kruds or the CIA.

And Trump's track record of being right after making comments some thought were BS or outlandish is pretty damn high.

So I believe him.

Now what might be debatable is did the Kruds simply just "keep" the weapons or did the CIA "give" them the weapons, with the intent all along to be hijacking success of overthrowing Iran because they still have a large contingent of leadership that hates Trump and wants him to fail.

But I have little doubt that Trump is right.

We really don't know much about any of it. But it's a safe assumption they can't smuggle weapons from western Iraq to Tehran or even into the country in any event, where they'll do any good.

Kurds aren't one monolith either, there's several different factions with myriad agendas.

We don't know what happened. But it smells of bullshit. Nothing is happening that we can see, on the other fronts of the Donald Doctrine. No sudden breakout of freedom in Cuba, nothing really happening in Venezuela. This all is bleeding out into the midterms, most important 'war' of all - we all know how it's going to be if the Dimrats get control back.

I'm just frustrated with it. The whole project held so much promise.
