With all the new faces on defense I sure hope we find a way to keep Liafu. I think that guy can be a productive player in the right system. With two different coaches and systems the last two seasons I don’t think he has been given the opportunity or utilized to his strengths. Not sure putting him strictly on the edge would be the best way to utilize him. I see him more as a hybrid player who could play OLB and blitz from time to time. He has a great motor and needs better coaching and a better system to maximize his talent. It’s so refreshing to have a coach like CP who obviously had great influence in the draft room. I fully expect our defense to be really good next season. I know we are young and it takes time but we just got a lot more athletic with this draft and through free agency and trades. This is the first time in many many years where I feel like we have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs. I think other teams are going to have a tough time against our defense. There will be a level of athleticism and speed that we have not been accustomed to. I believe our defense will be an attacking style with emphasis on swarming and taking away the ball. I may be overly optimistic but I believe it is possible to work our way into the top ten units next season. Finally it feels like real positive change is in the air.

i think its hilarious that archer is basically saying:

"yeah so dallas is signing this new guy. but don't worry, this new guy sucks. he will never play ahead of player x/y/z or even sniff a minute of meaningful offense."
