Have to agree with dbair on this one. Eberflus was a terrible coordinator. I would argue, with quality coaching our defense could have at least been middle of the pack. The only thing “dumb” was Eberflus’ scheme and inability/ stubbornness to adjust to the players strengths. I believe Christian Parker will be a breath of fresh air as DC of the Cowboys. He is enthusiastic and intelligent and will be a great teacher, unlike Eberflus. I don’t think it will take long for players to buy in on his philosophy. I actually think he will simplify things so that players can just read and react instead of wondering what is their assignment. You don’t get to the NFL by being dumb. I am excited to see what Christian Parker will do with this revamped defense in 2026. I predict drastic improvement!

Not all of them. Kenneth Murray definitely seemed other-worldly stupid, but not the rest of them.

If they are all dumb how did they play decent to good defense from time to time under Quinn?

You are confusing lack of talent and horrible scheme with stupidity. It is not the same.

With Whitecotton officially gone, it means we are almost assured of an entirely new defensive staff now. The DB and LB coaches were officially fired today. (In addition to being Eberflus hires, their positions were the worst on the team)

This is a great read and goes in depth into what Parer's new scheme will be like. Lot of technical stuff in here too if you like that sort of thing.

Jimmy on Schottenheimer and Cowboys

He does say he spoke to Jerry, he started saying "not to awful long", then stopped himself and said....."after the season" so he is doing something behind the scenes it seems.

Jimmy says he didnt like the Parsons trade, but then says they basically did the right thing for their situation.
