Brugler had a 3rd/4th rd grade on Toia. Probably will never give us much in pass rush but that clearly isnt why he was drafted. That said, he did increase his pressures from just 3 in 2023 to 19 in 2024.

I'm giving this draft a B-minus. I might be too generous. But I'd be hard pressed to complain too much. We didn't address WR but we did address needs and physicality. And it seemed to me our coaching staff had plenty of input. I feel pretty good about the haul.

They've also consciously gone after RKG's. We'll see how that translates to the field. Didn't work for Garrett but maybe it will for Schotty.

The draft is fun and offers hope to every team. I always enjoy the temporary escape. And then there is reality…. The Dallas Cowboys will NEVER win a Super Bowl with the Jerruh and Spawn at the helm. Book it! Their record of ineptitude is undeniable. Almost thirty years of not sniffing a SB or NFC championship speaks volumes about their ability to run an NFL team. In addition you add Dak Interceptscott as your starting QB and it strengthens this dose of reality. Remember that the ONLY thing the Jerruh cares about is the money. As long as he can stay in the headlines and sell merchandise he will be happy. Damn all the fans who really want our team to win. I really hope that I am wrong but believe my analysis is spot on. Enjoy the temporary high from the draft and get ready for reality as Fall draws near.

Fairly pleased with the 3 days. They could have done better but definitely could have done far worse. The idiot Jones-tards shot their mouths off about two "substantive" trades all week, and they never came to fruition. Barring something like working out, we'll have to hope the meat and potatoes draft leads to being the more physical team with better OL play that Schottenheimer has preached on since day one of getting the job. They certainly put their money where their mouth was on that with this draft. By the way if you get a chance to listen in on Cowboy draft show interviews with our new OC Kolston Adams and new OL Conor Riley, it's worth the listen. We got two great ones here.
1) Booker- still would have loved it had we been able to move down a few spots and still got him + extra pick/s, but as I mentioned the other day there were no deals getting done. One trade at #2 and then not a single other trade till pick 25. Love the player though and he has real leadership skill/traits, in addition to virtually flawless pass pro skill and the ability to move people off the ball almost at will. Has amazing attitude for an OL too. He'll start day one.
2) Ezeiruaku- pass rush supreme...not big enough to hold up consistently v the run yet but he can easily be an impact player on obvious pass downs. Has incredibly advanced pass rush skill and he's a finisher. Not tall but long arms and has a variety of moves that he consistently shows success with. Him and Parsons on the field together on 3rd downs should be a terror. Like Booker, EZ is regarded as a real leader on and off the field there at BC.
3) Revel- A lot of Cowboy writers thought Revel would be in play for us at 44 and there he was a little bit of a risk because of the ACL recovery, but at 76 he's well worth it. Probably would have been a 1st rd pick without the ACL. Tremendous coverage skills and really developed into a playmaker as well. Also a great kid who works his ass off. Once he gets healthy there's a good chance he wins the starting CB job opp Bland
5a) Blue- Had to wait a long time to get a RB/offensive playmaker, but Blue has elite long speed and great receiving ability. Needs to shore up the ball security a little but as a spot RB and 3rd down outlet receiver he's potentially a steal here. While not big, does show willingness to stick his nose in there at pass pro.
5b) James- There were a couple other LB prospects available here that I liked better, but supposedly this was Eberflus' guy and they liked him enough to move up for him. Flus has a great track record developing LB's. He definitely has some speed on the field. He's not Dixon Edwards or Darrin Smith but you can see some similar size and sideline to sideline type ability.
6) Cornelius- Has exclusively played RT ad has a lot of starting experience our OL coach Riley worked him out and obvious our WR coach has direct exp with him from Oregon. Def has some positive traits and does play with a mean/nasty attitude.
7a) Toia- was rated pretty high by a couple of the draft gurus and his video stuff is interesting. Massive powerful kid, eats up a lot of space and his ability to occupy OL is regarded as a big reason the UCLA LB's piled up massive tackle numbers. Might push for PT as a rookie.
7b) Mafah- I think he may end up being a real steal. Is a huge RB at 6'1, 234lbs and runs with great power, but he moves like a guy that's not just a plodder. Supposedly he has run 4.55 and thats pretty impressive for someone this big. Has some long runs on his video and like several other guys on this list, was highly regarded as a leader in Clemson's lockerroom. I think he makes the team and will probably see game day action.
7c) Akingbesote- Probably a PS guy this yr but Brugler says he definitely has developmental talent. Good size at 6'4 310 and moves quite well, also has big hands and really long arms.

We all hope you're wrong, but unfortunately as you note we have 30 yrs of track record that proves otherwise. The Jones' are just lousy football people. Our only real hope is the blind squirrel finally finds the nut, but in 3 decades that squirrel has starved to death and died multiple times already.

I am continually frustrated with the Jones’ arrogance and outright refusal to change the way they do business. While teams like the Eagles and Redskins reload overnight by making aggressive competent managerial decisions we continue to get schooled. Howie Roseman is proof that a real GM can make a huge difference. You are right about the squirrel trying to find a nut. Great analogy. I hope I am wrong… I desperately want to be wrong! I am pissed off that those arrogant morons refuse to look in the mirror. They are flat stupid in my opinion. Where is Tex Schramm Gil Brandt and Tim Landry when you need them? I just remember how much fun it was every year to be a fan. Those idiots trying to pose as football people continue to frustrate the fan base. It will take pure luck and that squirrel you referred too finding a nut fast!

Jerry is literally the only GM type that I have seen BRAG about vastly overpaying someone and act like that is some barometer of success or accomplishment.
What's next Jerry? "Hey, I paid $345,000 for a 1976 Pinto!!!!"

Cowboys make flurry of roster moves immediately after 2025 NFL Draft

The initial reviews of the Dallas Cowboys' 2025 draft class are overwhelmingly positive. They addressed a lot of needs but championed value instead of reaching. Their process was beautiful to watch unfold.
First-round pick Tyler Booker has an extremely high floor, while second-round pick Donovan Ezairuaku and third-round pick Shavon Revel were such good value they could end up being two of the biggest steals of the entire draft.
Being that this weekend is an all-out sprint, though, Dallas must move quickly to sign the top players that didn't get drafted before they get scooped up. They moved so fast, in fact, that they've agreed to terms with nine players.

Kelly checked in at No. 51 in Dane Brugler's WR rankings, according to The Beast. The former Red Raider is a nice player but his lack of speed will be put to the test against NFL defenders. He caught 89 passes for 1,023 yards and five touchdowns in his final season
Holden, meanwhile, was Brugler's No. 50 receiver. You can't make it up. A former four-star recruit and Alabama commit, Holden is a big target with nice ball skills, but he could struggle creating separation against NFL defensive backs. That could be a big hurdle for him.
Childress has the potential to be the gem of this group, which says a lot. He started 24 straight games for the Kentucky Wildcats after transferring from Texas State in 2023. He needs to be coached up, but he lined up at all five secondary positions in college and plays with speed and natural instincts.
Another standout is tight end Tyler Neville ESPN's Todd Archer reported the Cowboys gave Neville a $10,000 signing bonus guaranteed $90,000 of his base salary. He is clearly a player they view can challenge this tight end group. The TE3 job behind Jake Ferguson and Luke Schoonmaker could be up for grabs.

Then he would most certainly have drafted Shaduer. I sense something's changed. Perhaps mortality has him thinking differently. He WANTS that one last glorious championship ride.
