I was always of the mind set that Zeke should get paid before Dak just because of how our offense is modeled.
But I do agree that this contract worries me about what it means for the salary cap.
Let's hope this doesn't turn back the clock to the early/mid 2000s and I hope that this doesn't cost...
In full agreement
This shit rejects this kind of offer after what Jerry did to stand behind his retard ass!!!
I do believe he should get paid but you have to check the temperature of the water here.
We (the Cowboys) have all the leverage here...I do understand we are not the same team without...
I think it's a little myopic to mainly blame coaching for Dak being who he is but I guess that theory will be put to the test this year.
I'm in on Dak and do believe he is a franchise quarterback but I also do believe that he needs more around him than the other guys you mentioned to win.
I get it and find your points well taken but I would let him play it out and then tag him next year.
My main contention is not does he deserve it because like you said he's just the next one up it's just that investing that much of your cap space to a guy who really is overall pretty average...
As you have a right to believe but I will humbly disagree and I'd be happy to pay him what Brady or Roethlisberger is getting paid!!
Don't think he sucks and certainly think he is a franchise QB but not to the point where he cripples the cap, allows no flexibility to sign other players and then...
That asshat can take his request, shove it up his ass and play out the remaining year of his deal and we can tag his ass next year at the bargain price of $25M.
Love what Dak does but not if we end bringing knives to gun fights every week because this tardwagon feels he "deserves" $40M/yr.
Ok so just I am up to speed on the options for Mr. Elliott depending on what he decides to do:
1) if he holds out during the season, he needs to report by Nov.29th (or insert correct date) to get credit for the season?...this would also mean that he only gets paid for those 6 or 7 weeks which is...
When all this came up I thought that there was a provision in his contract to that effect.
I agree that the Gurley contract is a big albatross as far paying RBs early and now we know(?) that Gurley's knees aren't likely to hold up for too much longer. Plus what does it say that CJ Anderson of...
Wondering what everybody felt about this.
I'm on the side that this offense revolves around Zeke as he never has to come off the field and is never injured.
I would be inclined to pay him before Dak because we have seen how Dak responds when Zeke is not there and basically feel that Dak just...
