I recommend listening to the first 10 minutes of the War Room today:
NJ is a perfect example of what happens when you elect liberal politicians.
We have high property taxes, high sales taxes, high income taxes, legalized gambling, even on sports, tolls on our two major highways and even a high inheritance tax when you die. And their are other taxes like gasoline taxes, and vice taxes on booze and cigarettes. While we are the most densely populated state in the country, we still have less than 10 million people here. So where does all this money go? Who knows. We have a pretty significant debt to pay off, compliments of stupidity from 20 years ago.
But we also have some really dumb laws such as, a law that requires towns to equalize what they spend on education so If one township pays say $15,000 per student per year, then the poorest towns will spend that much and what they can't afford is paid by the richest towns - or the rich towns must lower their costs per student. Incredibly dumb. We also have mandatory affordable housing laws that require every town to provide a certain amount of affordable housing which is determined by the state, not by the towns. Towns like mine must allow developers to develop otherwise green lands. Developers are given money to build affordable housing. But in practice they build far more luxury houses with a few affordable units. Development is out of control.
We are a sanctuary state the provides benefits for illegals, requires multi-language teaching in schools if a certain number of non-English speaking students attend a school. If a school has a group of student, say from China, the school must hire a teacher that speaks Mandarin or Cantonese, or whatever dialect the students speak. If there are groups each speaking a different language the school must hire teachers to accommodate all the languages spoken.
I live in one of the few Republican towns left and Democrats in recent years have pushed hard to take it over. So far the town has resisted. But our property taxes are relatively low compared to the rest of the state, and we get our electricity from a NY state based power company. My electric rates are still fairly low compared to NJ provided electricity.
I don't think a Republican can win in NJ anymore. The state is overrun by left wing imbeciles, and NJ has always been known for corruption. I think the Republican can get more votes, but he will lose because vote by mail ballots will come in late and put the Democrat over the top, even though she is a moron.
