I can see the team's side of it. I really can. After the BS in the last preseason game, Parsons had to go. But like we said earlier, I would have been interested in seeing what, if anything, other teams offered. It seems like the DT was an importance piece for Jerry in making the trade. But it's still the GB Packers and a division rival. Not sure I make the trade with them. I'd almost take a #1, 2 second round picks and a 3 from the Browns or Raiders before I trade with the Pack. Plus Micah would go to a shit team outside the division. But who knows what was offered.

Not sure where I saw the deets (maybe it was another Breer thing) but they said not all of the 6 teams who made offers were willing to "go where GB went". Kinda makes sense, they think their super close and knew their picks would be lower. The Raiders were one of the team based on reports. I'm sure none of the offers were from Wash or Philly as Jones would have just hung up the phone on them. So def curious and maybe one day we'll know more.

I would assume GB had the best deal. I could see where teams like Buffalo and Detroit would have definitely been interested but their picks would be expected to be as low if not lower than GB. Maybe a team like Baltimore would have wanted in on him. Tampa maybe.

That said, I think everybody expected we could get more. Maybe the combination of massive deal + picks was just too much for a major bidding war, but I do wonder if maybe some people in the league don't see Parsons as quite the superstar stud the media and fans do and there's some proof of that in the players only voting of the most recent top-100 where Parsons was seen as only the 36th best player in the league. He's constantly called a "generational talent and player" but those guys don't get seen as 36th best players in the league. Either he is somewhat hated by other players or they don't view him as super special (could be combo of both)

There was a writer who didn't write for very long, for the website, who went on to other things. He went by the name Baldhead Sully, or something similar. Bald was in the name.

There might have been a million on top of that, but I don’t recall every detail of the article. But one point of the article was that the trade never would have happened had they not gotten Walker to agree to it.

Now, an interesting tid bit is that I wrote to this "bald head" guy and I asked him about who the real GM was. I told him that Jimmy said "it was in the contract" and Jerry said he had the right to change the terms at any time, sort of like how the credit card company or YouTube can change the terms at any time. Jerry would say that no trade could have ever happened without his signature, etc.

I wrote that surely Jerry has a copy of the contract. Let's see the contract.

I suggested that he ask Jerry to see the contract and we can settle it. He wrote back that it was a great idea. Never heard from him again. I don't think he even wrote for the Cowboys again.

I vaguely remember that guy.

Jimmy absolutely made all the football decisions around personnel, draft etc etc. It's the only time in Jerry's history he was a "great GM"

Then we have to rely on Joe Milton for the rest of the season, which will cause us to tank the season which in turn gives us a high 1st round draft pick next year that we can package with the late round GB pick to move up and take the #1 overall pick.

Jerry has dealt with many pain in the ass agents. I think the real problem was Micah. Agents work for players, Micah could have easily said yes. Jerry offered an average of 41 million. The Packers gave him an average of 47 million.

To me 6 million is huge money, but Micah has already made millions and I think when taxes are considered that what Jerry offered wasn't unreasonable. If Micah hadn't been a petulant child he could have easily overridden the agent.

The agent wasn't the problem, it was that Micah went back on his word and now claims that all he wanted was his representation and he had no demands.

BULLSHIT! Lamar doesn't even use an agent. If Micah had a brain, he could have fired his agent and kept his agent's cut, since he already had a deal that gave him 202 million on a handshake deal.

Allar has great size, huge arm and some good athletic ability but he is really inconsistent and makes a lot of dumb plays.

Nussmeier is the son of former Cowboys assistant (currently on Saints staff) Doug Nussmeier. Interesting prospect and with big yr could end up in the top 10 or top 15 for sure. Klubnik has really developed and they have a loaded team. Carson Beck at one point was a 1st rd lock but had a down yr last yr (really bad receiver group hurt him a lot but he was also inconsistent) and then he got hurt. I think he is healthy and starting tomorrow night for Miami.

Manning will shall see on. His family says he will definitely stay for 2027 but if he has a huge yr, Texas wins big and maybe he wins the Heisman or places high and is the lock for #1, maybe he changes his mind. Might ultimately depend on where he thinks he is going (team-wise). Remember Eli and his family forced his way out of San Diego on draft day when he came out.

I suppose it wasn't just a difference of 6 million. I forgot to multiply it. So it was actually 24 million over 4 years. Still, a lot of that will get eaten up in state taxes, but maybe these agents have ways to avoid the taxes, like opening charities and pretending they are working in the community.
