The more I read about Jake Tapper's book on the Biden dementia cover-up, the more I realize how deeply we were in trouble. Trump is doing what any president should do. Biden was just an absentee president. Whoever was running the country during Biden's 4 years need to go to prison and I don't care who it was.

I haven't read the opinion yet, but regardless, it is time for congress to act. Those who came into this country and broke the laws should not need a full appeal process to be deported. And, frankly, never did before Trump. But the court has ruled and now congress must act quickly.

First, the must pass a law clearly stating the conditions of deportation of criminal illegal aliens. For example, if you have been deported once already and you come back, you get no due process. Your due process was your first deportation. If you break the law and are convicted, your deportation happens automatically. There is more they can do, like depriving illegals of any benefits, ending the anchor baby policy, and restricting asylum claims on legitimate provable threats to an individual.

Second, they need to provide massive funding for border security so that not a single illegal crosses that border again.

Whatever they do has to allow states to enforce the borders in case Democrats get back in office and try to open the borders again.

The bigger issue is that people knew it but created Covid and mail in ballots to install (not elect) this fraud because they knew they could control him. It goes far, far deeper than the cover up, post election. These are evil people that nearly destroyed the country. But we only got a reprieve for a short while and the Republicans need to get their act together but it seems like they're just incapable of leading.

I just read the SCOTUS opinions on the deportation of Venezuelan gang members.

I agree with Thomas and Alito. The ruling is premature and in a way contradictory. The majority ruled that illegals deported under the AEA need more than 24 hours notice before they are deported. This would allow them the opportunity to find a lawyer and filed any motions or whatever that they are due under the constitution. The SC does not say how much time the government should provide them before they are deported, or what the process should be. They sent it back to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals to figure it out. This is classic John Roberts kicking the can down the road or to someone else.

But reading Alito's dissent is pretty interesting. Alito explains that this case arrived at the Supreme Court prematurely. It started when the ACLU lawyers went to a 5th circuit judge and asked for an emergency stay. This was a little after midnight. The judge did not respond immediately so the ACLU told him he had 42 minutes to issue a ruling on the matter or they would appeal to the 5th circuit court of appeals. The judge informed them that he had to give the government 24 hours to respond to the request for a stay. Even before the 42 minutes was up, the ACLU filed the appeal. The appeals court denied the stay arguing they had no jurisdiction so the ACLU filed an emergency appeal to the SCOTUS. As Alito points out, it is not proper procedure to go to the appeals court without a ruling to appeal, and it is improper for the SCOTUS to take up a case that had not been ruled on by the court of appeals.

The SCOTUS arguing that the Venezuelan gang member need time for due process, while sanctioning the denial of due process to the government by denying them an opportunity to respond to the original claim for a stay at the district court is rich.

I don't disagree that in cases where gang members have been arrested but have not had a hearing, 24 hours is not sufficient. But the SCOTUS never should have taken the is case to begin with and should have sent it back to the district court forcing the ACLU to follow the rules. This case just makes me hate John Roberts even more.

Washington seems to be looking for new winners and losers and it is all about OUR money.

We need a flat tax, or a VAT tax if the country can handle it, where everyone pays the same percentage on all income regardless of source. No deductions, tax credits, or exemptions should be allowed. The flat rate should be indexed to the budget. If congress needs more money to spend they should have to vote to increase the rate so that all citizens know their taxes were raised. No more pitting one group of tax payers against another.
