I can’t wait to see what type of crazy spin Parsons puts on this loss on his podcast.

Part of me feels bad for MM. But only to a point. Anyone that takes this job (or took this job 3 years ago) knows what they're getting and if they hitch their horses to that Precott wagon, it's on them. The same will be said for any new HC.

And Dan Quinn......how fast has that star faded? Love struggled against man and Quinn just played a soft zone for most of the night. I can't understand that.......

And Parsons talking so much shit is what's wrong with this organization. If I'm a HC and my "star" defensive player talks about leaving my team if/when the DC leaves I'm addressing that shit. And Parsons did it in the middle of a playoff run. There can only be one HC and MM couldn't control either Quinn or Parsons.

What blows me away is that we went away from Everything that brought us success ALL season long on both sides of the ball instead of leaning on our strengths.

I just don’t get it.

This reflects all on Jerry Jones, he should be announcing his own firing today

The sad part is there wasn’t a single glimmer of hope, or positive aspect of the game that you could take away into the off season.

Even our kicker doinked another kick. And he had been perfect on FG’s up until last game. This one was a PAT. But still, the one guy who has been consistent all season even screwed up.

There was not a single thing to hang your hat on that we could take away from this game.

A complete and utter failure all the way around.

Summaries of ESPN analysts:

Rex Ryan
  • This defense stunk! I don't know why they got outcoached but point to defense period!
    • They struggle with teams that run the ball.
    • 9 1/2 yards on 1st down the Cowboys gave up! That's incredible!
    • Why are you playing 6 DBs for 48/54 snaps against the run??? You don't do that when you're getting your brain kicked in.
  • Dak Prescott is the future of the team. Played MVP all year and talking about not going to bring him back??
    • Overall performance, hell no, not on Dak
    • Dak didn't play well, but compared to that defense he looked like a superstar, Joe Montana wouldn't have had a chance
    • I would have loved to have Dak as my QB.
    • Calls out some of Dan Orlovsky's game tape below
  • Dallas is not built to win in January, every loss, other team ran on something like 100-110 times, passed on 60-70 times
  • I thought the entire football team looked shocked after GB's first drive.
    • When you hear comments from Jerry Jones, Dak, McCarthy.. they just assumed they were the mighty Cowboys and could lay their jocks on field and dominate and win
Dan Orlovsky
  • Same thing happened we talked about on Monday, bad matchup (that video was posted last week)
    • Jordan Love under center
    • Ton of presnap motion
    • Ton of playaction pass
    • Cowboys defense struggled all season with that but no one listened
    • See video for examples.
  • Run Game, split flow. Run one direction then cut backside. They did it to Parsons 6x. Clearly they game planned against Parsons.
    • DQ is a great coach, but Green Bay ran circles around him.
  • I thought Dak looked under panic. Uncharacteristic decisions.
    • See video for examples. Dan runs down many bad decisions.
    • Both interceptions were not good decision to throw. See his video examples.
    • This defense allowed Tommy Cutlets and Bryce Young to be NFC Player of Week. Everyone made fun of it.
    • EVERYONE thought Dallas offense would go up and down on it.
    • No one debates if Dak is a good player, he has his entire career. But once again when they needed him, going against a kid who was in his first playoff game on the road, he failed.
Domonique Foxworth
  • GB wanted to avoid 3rd down at all costs
  • Playaction was the killer. Big shots taken on 2nd down.
  • Max protection against Micah, then just manned up and #11 still didn't make play
  • Offensive Line not only pushed Dallas back but out-schemed Dallas defense.
  • Dominique agrees with Rex Ryan. Wasn't all Dak bad decision on one interception. Great execution by GB's defensive backs.
    • But this is irrelevant. Dak and offense have to show up in a big game like this and keep them in game

Didnt catch his name, but this NFL show on radio I am listening the guy said "Green Bay copied Kyle Shanahan's game plan offensively and Buffalo's game plan defensively"

Yep.

Irvin has also publicly chimed in. Jimmy was raging yesterday. Will be interesting to hear what Troy has to say.

Tell it to your stubborn dumbass owner

and to rub a little more salt in the wound, two of their bitter rivals have kicked sand in their face repeatedly in the playoffs, its staggeringly pathetic how consistently they choke

thats 3 losses in a row to Green Bay and 2 to San Francisco, thankfully jeri has killed my fandom to the point where I'm dead inside but this would have crushed me when I was under 35

Good read:
Stop for a moment and contemplate what just happened to the Cowboys. They fielded their best and healthiest playoff team in decades. With a quarterback who will likely finish second in the league’s MVP voting and nine All-Pros across the depth chart, which is more than any other franchise in the NFL. They brought a deep and experienced roster of coaches to the table, including an elite defensive coordinator in Dan Quinn, who went into Sunday as a candidate for multiple head-coaching openings this offseason. To top it off, they boasted a home-field dominance unlike any other in the NFL, with a league-high 16 straight wins at AT&T Stadium. Rightfully, everyone in Dallas should've had the championship attitude of “If not this team, who? And if not this year, when?”

The answers? “Some other team” and “who the hell knows.”

It's no different an outcome than in any of the three Mike McCarthy seasons before this one or the Jason Garrett years before that — or Wade Phillips, Bill Parcells, Dave Campo and Chan Gailey. None of those guys got any real traction in the postseason. And not a single one even sniffed an NFC championship game.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott were on the losing end of this postseason's most stunning upset. But none of them oversaw a roster this loaded, in a season in which most of the NFC foes had vulnerabilities across the board. And certainly not a single one had a team this talented lose to a Green Bay franchise that was just happy to be there — loaded with young players and an inexperienced quarterback in Jordan Love, still learning how to win big games.

Yet for more than three quarters, the Packers summoned a multitude of questions about the future in Dallas.

Where did the MVP-caliber Dak Prescott go for three quarters? The one who is in line for a record-setting contract extension this offseason? Despite the most flawless season of his career, Prescott looked jittery much of the night, throwing two interceptions and missing a handful of passes that looked like timing issues rather than pure coverage. He threw balls late. He sailed others or lobbed them into empty space. Several times, he tried to fit passes into low-percentage windows.

MM's post-game words suggested the Cowboys were taking this game as a layup not worthy of full game prep. The Packers figured they weren't even supposed to be there, nothing to lose, so let's go out there and play. Any Given Sunday strikes again. Further, I think there's something to the whole Cowboy Country Club thing. Jerry does treat his players well. I think maybe too well. It seems to be more about the celebrity and the glamour than the playing.
