The "Romo-friendly" terms make me sick. How many times has teams used terms like "Brady-friendly" or "Manning-friendly" ? I have never seen a team use so many resources to prop a QB up in an effort to make him elite. It has created an unbalanced team over the years.
They fell in love with the shiny new toy.

It's not so new and shiny now, maybe we can start getting some intelligent personnel decisions elsewhere on the team besides the offense.

Romo became the starter in 2006.

Since 2007 here's a breakdown of each years picks:

2007- 8 total picks, 3 were defense, 4 offense, 1 ST (kicker Folk). 1st rd pick as defense (Spencer)
2008- 6 total picks, 3 off/3 def...two first rd picks 1 off (Jones) 1 def (Jenkins)
2009- 12 total picks, 7 were defense, 4 offense 1 ST (kicker Buehler). 5 of first 7 picks that yr were defense. (first rounder traded for Roy Williams)
2010- 7 total picks, 5 defense, 2 offense. Traded up in first rd for Dez Bryant
2011- 8 total picks, 2 def, 6 offense. Tyron Smith was the first rd pick
2012- 7 total picks, 5 def, 2 off...Claiborne was first rd pick after trading up. Top 4 picks were defense
2013- 7 total picks, 4 offense, 3 def. Frederick was top pick after moving down.
2014- 9 picks, 7 defense and 2 offense. Martin top pick.

64 total picks used since Romo became the starting QB and 35 of the picks have been defensive players.

So they're lying when they say they've been working to make the offense "More Romo Friendly." :lol

You're defending Jerruh, it's cute to see.

So we got the worst defense ever, that's been bad for years, just by magic right anal polyp?

Go fuck yourself troll.

I haven't defended the shit Jones has done in a long long time. I'm not even saying any of these picks were good.

I posted the numbers so you could see what a fucktard argument it is to act like the team hasn't tried to do anything defensively.

And nobody's said that or even hinted at it, Straw Boi.

This is how you operate - lie about what people say, then attack the lie you made up.

Jerry so desperately wants to run the Patriots double TE offense that he uses high picks on TE's.

This is all still more symptoms of the "make the offense Romo-friendly" syndrome. Imagine what those picks and more could have done for the defense over the years.

I blame Garrett for this. He and his brother

1) said Parcells' pick Fasano was too dumb to learn the playbook so they had to trade him
2) drafted Bennett when they knew, or should have known, what his personality was like
3) traded Bennett bc he was the WKG
4) drafted Escobar and even promised Jerry he wouldn't go to waste like the other guys before him

Of course Fasano and Bennett are still in the league years later and playing well.

You can't screw the pooch much worse than that.

Like I said, there's blame on both levels here. They didn't need to spend three 2nd rd picks on backup TE's to begin with, but once they did the coaches should find a way to maximize the talent on the roster. They clearly arnt doing that here.

I don't think anyone in their right mind expects our 2nd TE to catch 60 balls and have 10 tds. But they could get a guy like Escobar on the field for more than 9 damn plays a week and at least try to involve him some in the passing game.

Romo friendly doesn't mean what you think it means.

If this offense was Romo friendly, he wouldn't have a bum back and no running game until last year. They've had their hand forced lately because they can't develop an offensive lineman to save their fucking life.

Neglecting that position for 6 or 7 years will get you in that predicament.

I'll see that and raise you:
2a) Wasted three years on Bennett "waiting for the light to come on."

I think the idiots coined it, trying to say they were building their offensive scheme and personnel around Romo. And, they did. Chipping away at all the excuses, the last of which the last four years, was the offensive line.

Because you don't really need a good running back, if you're tuned to Romo and what he can do.

Pretty much.

Except here you are again, lying about what I said. And you don't even know it, which makes it pathological.
