I'd put the floor at 7-9 and the ceiling at 11-5.

I'll go 9-7 ... plus or minus 1.

5 of the 11 NFL.com analysts have the Cowboys winning the division.

3 of that 11 have the Giants.

2 of that 11 have the Redskins.

1 has it for the Eagles. That one that has it for the Eagles, also have the Cowboys finishing last with a 5-11 record. Not sure if he's serious or is going for the shock effect.

So you think the Cowboys did not improve at all?
Yeah, but not enough to win the division and go far in the playoffs. We might shock some fans and experts, and win 10 games. But saying we're winning it all goingo 19-0 is just plain stupid. ~dbair~

We are what we are and that to me is a .500 team. Lookit, we just got another DC and changed from the 3-4, it's not an easy transition. There will be bumps in the road and we still don't have all the pieces yet to be successful in this defense.

Offensively I'm worried about the OL still even though I think we improved with Leary, waters and Frederick. That also will take some time to develop. The OL we start with against the Giants probably won't even be the one we end up with this year. The only ones I have confidence in are Smith and Frederick.

Now, Waters a few years ago, hell yeah, but the man is nearing 40, he isn't anywheres near the same player he once was. We can't have Romo running for his life and getting thrown to the ground on every other play. Just think if it weren't for Tony making a play out of nothing this team would hardly score when he scrambles like that. Believe me I hope I'm wrong and I'll be the first to admit it. I just don't see us getting much better than .500.

Next year we need to draft heavy on the DL and OL. We also need safeties. You know this. For crying out loud we don't need anymore TEs. I mean I don't want to reach for players but we seem to be concentrating on areas where we have some talent already.

Yeah. .... I've been listening to Mike & Mike during my commute. They were giving their various predictions. And they didn't even mention the Cowboys when discussing the NFC East. Not even a mention.

I don't put any stock in their opinions or predictions, but it struck me that the Cowboys apparently are seen as irrelevant by at least some in the national media.

I guess it is better than being shamelessly over-hyped.

But honestly, anyone who still thinks that the Cowboys are somehow America's Team should re-evaluate the situation.

Of course if the Cowboys go on a winning streak, they'll quickly be back on the national media's radar.

But for now, this team might as well be Jacksonville.

Unless he's predicting some kind of major injury problem, I can't see that happening. Why would we be worse than the last two years? It's not like the division should be any better or the schedule more difficult.

10-6

We stay healthy all year and the addition of Waters improves the run game enormously

Our offense will do well but our defense will struggle against the run

Water's an improvement no doubt, I just think he may have lost a step. Who knows I've been wrong a lot of times before.

And how did the division overall improve? And we have a third place schedule. And believe it or not, most "experts" have the Cowboys winning the division, so where is the shock at? Look I get it. This team has disappointed and you've tempered your expectations, or maybe you're doing some reverse psychology on yourself, just in case the Cowboys don't live up to expectations, you won't be as butt hurt, hence why you calling them winning the division "a shock".

We are what we are and that to me is a .500 team. Lookit, we just got another DC and changed from the 3-4, it's not an easy transition. There will be bumps in the road and we still don't have all the pieces yet to be successful in this defense.

You claim that we "improved" but yet only a .500 team, when yet this .500 team was a **** hair WITH ALL THE INJURIES last year, from winning the division.

As for the "transistion", LOL... we've had the personnel for the 4-3 for many of years. Sorry but the "trasisiton" period is not as long as you are making it out to be.

Offensively I'm worried about the OL still even though I think we improved with Leary, waters and Frederick. That also will take some time to develop. Romo didn't look like he was running for his life in the dress rehearsal. And as much as people want to blame the OL for Romo running for his life last year, much of it can be put at Garrett's feet with his non-adjustment and predictable and simplistic playcalling. Callahan is calling the plays from up in the booth the way it should be done, and not at eye-level where you cannot get the entire lay of the field, and Romo has a lot more freedom in changing things up, that right there will enable him to protect himself.

Next year we need to draft heavy on the DL and OL. We also need safeties. You know this. For crying out loud we don't need anymore TEs. I mean I don't want to reach for players but we seem to be concentrating on areas where we have some talent already.

Not worried about next year right now. But go ahead and stay on the ledge.

Fair enough, I've got nothing else until we start playing games. Okay, maybe 9-7. that's an improvement.

The run d and pass rush could be worse. And as romos last supporter even I think he could have a down year with the ghosts of his past making him more conservative

Don't we feel like we Improved every year?

I feel good about this year's squad so you all may want to adjust your prediction's accordingly.
