Stung by comments from owner-general manager Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys running back Tashard Choice kept a low profile in the locker room on Wednesday.

``It's best that I not say anything,'' Choice said.

Speaking on KRLD-FM, the club's flagship station, Jones indicated on Tuesday that Choice must play better on special teams before he can think about getting more chances with the offense. Choice has handled the football only 23 times this season, producing 83 yards as a runner and receiver. A year ago, he handled the football 79 times and produced 481 yards from scrimmage.

With running back Marion Barber still nuring a strained left calf muscle, Choice could receive his most extensive playing time of the season against Indianapolis on Sunday.

I never understood this. So, he can't play special teams well. But, maybe he can run the fuck outta the ball? Because he can't play ST's is why he doesnt' get a chance to play at the position that they SIGNED him for ? Stupid, nothing more then stupid, but, it's Jerry , so, we know how that goes.

It's the Parcells/George Young rule of thumb. If you're a backup, you have to contribute on special teams.

Yeah but I don't think that applies here.

The rule is referring to players not good enough to get on the field on offense or defense. In that case, you better be able to play some special teams.

Here we have a guy who is almost definitely an upgrade over the current starter at RB. The only logical conclusion on why he's not playing is Jerry Jones. He paid the big dollars to Barber, he's forcing his coaches to play him.

I think Choice doesn't block very well. Felix doesn't either, which is why it continually takes him forever to pull more duty. But anyways, that's keeping him from seeing more playing time, and then he's not doing contributing on special teams. So basically he's given them no reason to play him more on offense.

I didn't agree with the dumbass special teams deal that Parsuck brought here. I never liked that deal. How fucking hard is it to have some jerkoff run down the field and tackle some guy. . I guess pretty hard because they still sometimes don't get it right. Hell, because of this dumbass shit, there was a roster spot wasted in Pat Watkins for how many years. "Well, he sucks at safety, but DAMN can he play special teams!". What kinda shit is that. They have tried for years to work on ST's and it is still average.
