7 chunks of #Cowboys Intel:

7) Moment after Romo done/room created, calls will be placed to vet DBs Ronde & Huff (if still available)
6) SJones (pointman in negotions) busy enuf w Romo to have not gotten to ASpencer yet this week. Maybe today.
5) there is no reason to take seriously any #JerryJibberish re Felix Jones being valued here.
4) Why'd Garrett skip Bama Pro Day? Nick Saban connection gives him filing cabinet full of inside info
3) Scouts sold on Vaccaro as 18th-pick-worthy; Wed. workout will help RedBall decide if he agrees.
2) Draft board has wide separation between Cooper/Warmack level and Fluker level.
1) Reports of connection w FA OL Eric Winston NOT accurate. Agent-generated misinfo.

I mean, he's a sure tackler. Gets his man down when isolated one on one. Seems to diagnose the play quickly and flow to the ball carrier.

But we're not drafting a linebacker. I don't see much in the way of coverage ability.

Is he better than what we have at safety? Duh.

Does he look like he'd be great against the Redskins/Seahawks/9'ers gimmicky offenses.... Yes.

But man.... I don't know. I'm just don't see a potentially elite safety, which I think you need to see flashes of if you're going to take one that high.

Does he make any plays? I could see if his tackling lead to a bunch of strips and forced fumbles at least. TFL. Something. Anything.

He's just a fucking JAG.

So far it doesnt appear he's been a ballhawking type FS, on the other hand it could be a product of how he is used as well. According to everything I've read (and a few of the clips I've seen) they did use him alot as a slot cover guy on opposing WR's, which in turn would give him less chances on passing downs to make plays in space.

Maybe so db, but why would we think a guy can do a task in the pros when he hasn't demonstrated that he can against college offenses?

Cowboy slash Longhorn fans dream come true with Safety tandem of Mike Huff and Kenny Vaccaro.

Acceleration to the ball. Tackling technique. As much as this guy is practically playing against high school players, the acceleration to the ball carrier and strong fundamental tackling (drives the shoulder into the waist and wraps/lifts the legs at full speed) are both something that would not change in the pros. Yes, there are many other factors that would expose Miles as being small school but I like the starting skill set. Other than Rambo, here is my pick to be the JohnLynchPin of Kiffin's scheme.

Again, maybe it has to do with how he was used in their defense.

If he's spending all his time on passing downs covering slot WR's, then he isnt back playing in the deep parts of the field. Doesnt mean he cant do it, it just means they have been using him in other ways. Maybe he was really good in man coverage, I dont know. I didnt watch much Texas football this year.

I'm reasonably sure if they are going to seriously consider taking him, that they have a good idea whether or not he can work in this defense the way they'll want him too.

It's called the Garrett Corollary. Having no actual coaching successes or elite QB coaching accomplishments on his résumé=offensive coordinator.

Failing to improve Red Zone scoring, score points at critical times, control the clock, change scheme when entire league uses the same game tape to predict accurately how he will call plays, and when his offense scores 7 points against Green Bay on the day his Head Coach is fired = promote the OC to HC.

Yes makes perfect sense. Apparently when there is no evidence to support predicted results, you go with it anyway.
