How about that offensive line?

I was castrated before the season saying the Cowboys should have stuck with picks #1 and #2 and drafted OL. Instead, they traded and drafted a CB.

I like Claiborne. Unfortunately, their OL is what lost them the division against the Redskins. Washington can run it, the cowboys can't. That was the difference in the game last night and the difference in the division this year.

I wonder if Cowboys management will figure it out this offseason, or whether we get to see Romo get battered and bent backwards, Murray continually run into walls of blockers who came free, and watch Romo throw more picks late in games as he shoulders the entire team on his back trying to make every play.

Who mocked you for saying we should've gone Oline?

I'm pretty sure everyone here (outside of 1 or two guys) was on the DeCastro bandwagon.

Welcome back, by the way.

Also... for the record, I'm on Team Warmack heading into this next draft.

I was called a troll for criticizing the Cowboys drafting of a CB. One of the mods put a troll picture in my signature. People are so optimistic before the season starts they cannot stand people discussing the warts on the team.

You sure that was here. Half of us here(3) were totally against the claiborne deal and were begging for a Olineman

Im still against the deal.

Look man, don't come up in here with this straw-man bullshit. Most people on this board wanted to go OL in the first with DeCastro being the target. NOBODY HAD ANY CLUE... that the Cowboys were going to move up and draft Claiborne. NONE WHATSOEVER. I hated the pick initially, but I wamred up to it.

Sorry. But it's hard to take someone seriously when they post this:

Sign Elam and then you have a very workman like, respectable secondary that can play in this league. And you fix the OL problem, which is by far the worst problem on this team, and fill in some depth on a young, but very thin MLB corps.

And actually, the OL played a bit better than usual. They nwerte blitzing two men up the middle. It wasn't the OL that lost us the division, but the playcalling of Garrett.

Yeah, there were several of us who questioned using so many resources on CB.

Others disagreed, but I don't remember any empty-headed CZ-like bashing going on here ... about that.

@Lazarus:

Straw man? Lol, I didn't use a straw man tactic. You might want to look that up on wikipedia.

I'm not going to bother going back and finding the whole statement I made which you no doubt selectively quoted here, but if your criticism being made is that Elam was the reason to pick CB instead of 2 OL in the draft, then I have this to say.

I would have rather had Elam, Decastro, and Konz than Claiborne and zippo else.

We could have used Elam at S this year and Jenkins at C and had a much better OL. Three solid starters (including Jenkins) and a servicable safety (which we needed when ours went down) versus one potential elite starter at CB and getting Romo killed while losing the division because you couldn't run the football.

I wasn't trying to complain about the treatment, but if you want to look at my post history, you'll see the juvenile treatment I received when I criticized the Claiborne pick. Of course, I ended up being right, but who is counting?

How were you right exactly? How do you know any other pick (had it been an OL) would have done anything?

How do you know Claiborne wont end up being a allpro calibar CB?

Obviously Rob Ryan had alot of input on the strategy for last offseason, and he and Garrett apparently agreed that fixing a pathetic CB situation was a priority. The year before, they bypassed a guy who's a bonafide DPOY candidate now so they could address the OL. You cant do that every year with your top pick.
