There are no quick fixes. I don't think Ware, Romo or Witten will be on the roster of a future Dallas championship team. If I were Tony, I'd play out my contact and try to go elsewhere as a free agent.

We've developed the reputation of signing guys to extensions and letting them mail it in afterwards. That's most likely what Spencer will do since he's admitted to taking plays off and hasn't had a breakout year until now at 29 years old. We seriously need to stop handing out extensions like candy and then paying for it a year or two later.

Yeah, I think you are right about Romo not being on a Dallas championship team. I'd enjoy seeing what Romo might do in a better situation on another team.

I could see Ware or Witten having a career long enough to be a part of a Dallas championship team (in the twilight of the career). Walter Payton won a championship in Chicago when he was past his prime. Maybe Ware or Witten could too.

Let's say they have five years left. Jerry will still be calling the shots and assembling the team during those years, so I don't see it happening.
