DP rarely leaks stuff unless he's sure...

Today he said that his sources have told him that the Dallas Cowboys have quietly started a HC search and that the plane has "already made a couple of landings". He said they have already lined a few things up and gaged some interest.

He also said that Garrett will absolutely be let go if the Cowboys do not make the playoffs.

I would imagine he has some sort of podcast you can download and listen to ???


My Manager is shadowing us so I can't really be on here today but I'll check back at lunch.

I mean, part of my skepticism is... how would Dan Patrick be any more plugged in than local media or NFL inside guys like Schefty/Mortensen, etc. None of them are reporting anything.

Hasn't Peter King been pretty plugged into the Cowboys for a few years? He hasn't said anything that I've seen.

If you are going to fire Garrett and replace him, then do it .... Fire Garrett and conduct your search.

But don't begin a search before you fire the guy. Don't leave him hanging out to dry. Don't let this sort of report get out and then expect the coach to coach the team.

That and he doesn't develop young players.

His Raiders/Buccaneers teams were veteran laden. That's why the wheels fell off both franchises shortly after he left. No young players were worth a shit to take over once relics like WarrenSapp, Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Brad Johnson, Charlie Garner, John Lynch, etc etc etc retired.

He's just one step above Barry Switzer in my book. He won the SuperBowl with Dungy's players. All they needed was a spark on offense that Dungy couldn't give them. Knowing every offensive play that Oakland was going to run in the game that year didn't hurt either.
