As a ticked off Cowboy fan....let me say that the Skins 100% deserved to win game and props to them! RG3 is the real deal...wish we had him!! I am just tired of the same old mistakes over and over and over again and boy is it frustrating to watch.
I hope Garrett is gone end of the year. I had this guys back last year but he is in way over his head. Listen to all of his press conferences via Cowboys website like i do...he makes we want to vomit. He says the same thing...over...and over...and over...and over again!! "all three phrases...offense/defense/special teams"....."I like the way we battled back" and blah blah blah....UUUGHH!!!
The reason you battle back is because your play calling his shit and you cant get an early lead. Your team is the most penalized in the league! You and your team don't play with a chip on your shoulder that is vital to what good teams/players do. You have no fire/heart on the sideline! You are a company man saying yes sir/no sir etc. You may be smart/educated with a good solid football back ground...but you are NOT head coaching material.
Everyone wants to criticize JJ.....but let me say....it is NOT HIM!! Does he have an ego...YES!! Is he a control freak....YES! HOWEVER.....HOWEVER....he HAS BACKED down over the years in a BIG TIME way. He is letting coaches coach. You don't see hin on the sidelines drawing attention. He fired old scouting guys, brought in Tm Ciskowski in 08 and LISTENS and really lets his guys make selections. He is not burning draft picks. The draft picks last 3+ years has been solid!! He has gotten away from problem players...and drafted quality guys. Insert Dez comment here....BUT many of you don't realize he is a better kid than what we see. Yes...he is young and has issues...mom thing was horrific...but IMO I "think" he will continue to show everyone over the years he is NOT the really bad problem kid most paint him to be. He cares about his teammates, far from selfish and wants to do well with fans/team/reputation. Players on his own team in locker room and across the league feel the same way. Remember he was drafted late in first round and his talent is emerging each season. Sorry...off track...getting back to character guys....Bruce Carter, Sean Lee, Claiborne, Tyron Smith, Brandon Carr (F/A), Kyle Wilber, Demarco Murray etc. These are SOLID picks and "good character" guys you want in your locker room. This was not a JJ philosophy 4+ years ago and that has changed because he was burned. The team was old and got pretty young across the board last few years.
This team has several REAL quality guys in the locker room lead by Demarcus Ware, Jason Witten, Sean Lee and lesser known guys like Kenyon Coleman, Sensabaugh, Spencer and a few others. They stick up for Romo and have always believed in him....but you can see that his constant mistakes/turnovers are causing cracks in the armor and at this point...I don't know if it can be mended. For the first time last week I listened to a Witten interview and he criticized Romo for turnovers for first time I can ever remember. I have NEVER been a Romo guy. He makes great plays....but way too many mistakes....and doesn't have the "it" factor. I think it is becoming apparent that his teams faith in him is wavering in the locker room and no one player is bigger than the team....
Key to Dallas getting out of this hole are a few key factors:
1) Need Demarco Murray healthy- This offense is 100% different with him on the field. Of course injuries are a part of the game and each team faces injuries...nature of the beast...but when he is on the field...they are a 10X better offensive and balanced team. They made a sick run last year when he became the focal point and when he got hurt.....season came to a crashing halt. Same goes for this season. Will he be an inury problem throughout his career?? I hope not because we need him on the field.
2) Sean Lee needs to be on the field- Carter came in and did an amazing job in his place...but Sean Lee is one of the best LB's in the league. With last years lock out...they (D) didn't get a chance to really learn Ryan's Defense- Sean Lee learned it first...is the play caller...leader of Defense....first one in and out of facility. He has the "it" factor and just make plays. When he and Carter play together next season side by side....I think Cowboys have best inside LB duo in the league.
3) TIme for a QB change- Mistakes are too much to overcome. The turnover battle wins football games- and even though he makes amazing houdini plays...his schtick is old. WHo do they get to replace him? I sure as heck don't know as that is the magic question.....His team is finally loosing patience and go find a new home with the Jets! Maybe...just maybe we can steal a Brock Osweiler or someone...but your guess is as good as mine. This is a QB league and if you don't have a good QB....you are basically doomed. Having Romo is like bringing a knife to a gun fight...solid weapon....bt rather have an AK 47!
4) A new Head Coach with it "It" Factor- a guy who gets his team to play with urgency, heart, passion, fewer mistakes. I can only dream of a guy like Tomlin, Oregon head coach, Cowher, Gruden, Sean Payton....someone. If JJ did loosen his grip on team, even more....would open doors for coaches to come in because many don't want to play under him
5) Spend some money on a few offensive lineman that can "really" play! O-line shuffle is a mess! Costa and Tyron Smith are solid...and Free has been playing soft.....
Maybe....just maybe....this team can compete on a bigger stage because I do feel they have many of pieces in place already and young ones at that. They need to play with a grudge & I just hope they can fix this mess while Witten and Ware are still here so they can go out on top
