My spit knows more about football than you. This post is like my spit. Read it and feel yourself getting smarter.
- I think the Steelers beat the Giants on Sunday. The Steelers are starting to play better, and the Giants just aren't as good as many make them out to be. If we had a coach capable of preparing us for a game, we would've probably destroyed them last week. And Roethlisberger is just as clutch in the fourth quarter as Eli, so they essentially evens out the Giants biggest strength.
- I kind of feel bad for a team like the Chiefs who need a QB in the worst way, and will be picking first overall. There isn't a stud prospect available.
- Whoever wins the Minnesota @ Seattle game could be one of the Wild Card teams come January. Seattle is favored by 4.5, but if I were an (active) betting man, I wouldn't touch this game with a 10 foot poll. Christian Ponder has forgotten how to play QB, but Peterson and Harvin are explosive. Seattle keeps sticking with Russell Wilson, who actually plays decent at home. A lot of good pass rushers in this game. From our perspective, I have to root for Minnesota.
- Arizona vs Green Bay is another big game as far as the playoffs are concerned. But not really. After starting 4-0, Arizona has lost four in a row. Both teams are ahead of us in the playoff race, but Green Bay should take care of that on Sunday. I say should, because Green Bay struggled mightily against the Jaguars. But I guess it's hard to get up for the Jaguars.
- I bet when the schedule makers put Philly and New Orleans on MNF, they were hoping for a juicier match up than what they're going to get. Both teams are floundering at this point. This game is of interest because you want to see how Michael Vick performs. There was talk - although Reid denies it - that they were going to switch to Foles. If Vick struggles, do we face a rookie QB in his first game next week? Or does Vick and the Eagles redeem himself after the dreaded players only meeting they held this week. After having one last year, they won their next two games. Uh oh.
- I think it kind of sucks that Jason Witten is going to break Michael Irvins team record during a road game. Just seems fitting that that should've happened at home. Minus the 18 reception game last week, it could've happened on Thanksgiving vs the Redskins. That would've been perfect.
- Atlanta is favored by 4 over Dallas. That line has dropped. A 7-0 team playing at home against a 3-4 team, only favored by four? It's like Vegas is begging you to take Atlanta. Or, it could be that way because Dallas is a public favorite, as foolish as that actually is. Nevertheless, I see a Cowboys win on Sunday. I think we air it out and play very agressive football. I think we get into a shoot out of sorts, and I think our defense - minus Lee and all - is significantly better than the Falcons defense. They will also be without their best linebacker, Sean Witherspoon (WOLB). I am very excited to see Carr and Claiborn go to war with Jones and White.
Basically, this is it for me this year. We either beat Atlanta, or I'll turn into the "not a real fan" guy who roots for losses to improve our draft pick and next years schedule (4th place vice 3rd or 2nd).
