Jerry & John Madden liked what the offensive line showed

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he got a chance to watch the second half with an expert on offensive lines.

And that they both liked what they saw from the Cowboys in the preseason game Monday night against Oakland.

“I had a chance to sit there with John Madden and watch the offensive linemen in the second half,” Jones said. “That’s his specialty, and what I like to look at. We saw some of our guys doing some good things.”

Who?

“Parnell did good, of course. Smith is good, but he didn’t play in the second half. But Parnell did good. Leary did some good things in there. But Parnell particularly impressed me.”

Parnell is Jermy Parnell, the Cowboys’ primary backup offensive tackle. He and Ronald Leary, an undrafted rookie who Jones was especially pleased to sign after the draft, played on the third-quarter drive led by Kyle Orton that produced the game’s only points, a 33-yard field goal by Dan Bailey.

“Ideally, you’d like to have gone down and gotten one in the end zone,” Jones said. “You’d like to get a touchdown, get a score. But I really liked what I saw individually with some of the offensive linemen.”

You can't die soon enough Jerry.

IDIOT. Leary might be decent in run blocking, but he sucks in pass protection, and maybe that can be attributed to his knee issues. Back-peddling as required in pass blocking would put more pressure on your knees, especially if they were shot from the get-go.

What Jerry is too stupid to realize, is that John was probably being polite and being agreeable.

Jerry was probably raving about Leary and whoever, and John was probably just nodding and smiling. Yeah, he looked good. Uh huh. BOOM. Tough actin Tinactin!

Really don't think John, from his seat, was paying that close attention to yesterdays bore fest.

I hate Jerry.

Neither of them like what they saw.

Madden was probably just happy to be at a game with who he thought was Pat Summerall.

I doubt it. Madden likes them big and fat. Come to think of it, i never thought i would miss our fatties on the o-line.

Madden is watching these guys as a fan. I doubt he's sitting there analyzing them like a coach would.

So the list of some guys, who did well are:

Parnell.
And Tyron, he's good.
Parnell.
Leary's not good, but he did some good things.
Parnell.

So our superstar tackle who everyone knew was a superstar and Parnell? Quite a list there.

No coincidence that they were together in first place.

Jerrah has fully morphed into Al Davis at this point. The difference is that poor Al finally kicked the bucket. Jerry will outlive all 8 members of this forum not named dbair, and all current season ticket holders hoping for better days.

Parnell did play well people.

I know its the fab thing to do to slam everything (especially after how the team played last night) but there were some bright spots, and he was one of them. His footwork was really good, and he looks like he has gotten alot bigger to me than he was last year.
