I made this video as a response to a post in the "best romo plays" thread to MarionBarberthe4th:

I will say because of Romos height I don't think he is in love with the pocket. because of this he sometimes looks for a reason to escape just to get better vision

I'm not saying our pass pro is clean because its just not. But I think sometimes he senses pressure that isn't there. Now maybe it's a battered wife putting her hand up instinctively when her husband makes a sudden movement. And if that's the case shame on jerry, Stephen, and Garrett because this guy is seriously one of the best in the game

I looked through all of the sacks that he took in 2011 and I'd have to agree.

Nice job putting that together. I think it was combination of an inconsistent offensive line, wide receivers that can’t get open and Romo trying to make a big play.

Next time can you use those efforts for something positive? lol

I really hated that video. And I didn't make it past the 2nd game.

Hey, cowboysportsblog.... could your next video be a compilation of every time I was ever dumped by girlfriends?

That'd be less painful. No really.

There were some stupid plays by Romo but mostly terrible protection.

Excellent video idea though.

I feel like from Detroit on through sack 17 or so I'm just watching Tyron Smith get his ass kicked.

Romo has to learn to throw the ball away. He takes some unnecessary sacks.

Boom or bust. If he did that, then he also wouldn't have his hundred or so signature highlight plays.

Edit; wait, that sounds stupid. You can't have hudreds of signature highlight plays.

But you get what I'm saying, right? He's famous for extending plays and turning nothing into something. Coach that out of him and you take away his best assett.

I love romo and i guess our offense produces but I don't love how it does it. It's so boom or bust and totally uncohesive. None of the linemen really know each other or how to stay onsides, the QB/center exchange is like pulling teeth, and it can't push the pile in goal line or 5 minute drill.

Seems like Brady and Rodgers have these automatic first down plays in their back pocket to a welker/Cobb type whenever they need to get out of the shadow of their own goalpost. What happens if witten twists his knee on one of his stop on a dime cuts, are we prepared for that

Yeah if Romo stops running around extending plays then he's not Romo anymore. That's what separates him from the other elite QBs imo. Doesn't make him better or worse than them just different.

Do we have any receivers outside of Witten who can do that and see the field with the same eyes as Romo?

Brady knows that if they put Welker in the slot with a two way option route he's gonna see it the same way and get open in less than two seconds. Miles is the only guy we have who can do that but even him and Romo aren't always on the same page.

No I dont think miles has those kind of quicks. Welker isn't even a deep threat like miles is and they still can't cover him in the box. You can say its more Brady being Brady then anything, but it still feels like other teams have another page or two in their playbook

Playcalling, anticipation and communication within the offense. When brady does that he already knows what the defense is gonna do, what Welker is gonna do and where to put the ball before he snaps the ball.

Maybe Romo doesn't have it like that. Maybe Garrett doesn't. Maybe none of our wideouts do.
