It's early - pre training camp and all. But what do you think the Redskins 2012 record will be?

I actually think they have a respectably strong season under Shannahan in his third season. But I also think the strength of that team will be the defense, specifically the front 7.

I like their Dline - Stephen Bowen & Barry Coefield are underrated players. And they're getting a talented if yet unproven D-end in Jarvis Jenkins back from knee injury. He has the potential to be very good.

I like the linebackers of Kerrigan, Orakpo, and London Fletcher. But a very talented linebacker they have that I also really like is Perry Riley. He's been getting better every year. Probably will never be a superstar, but a solid, underrated player that I'd take in Dallas in a heart beat.

Their secondary isn't a strenght, so we'll be best served spreading them out a lot.

On offense, they have likely upgraded the QB position unless RGIII is hot garbage. And naturally they'll have a dynamic running game. Roy Helu came on last year as a receiver and runner. Evan Royster looked good as well. Both are perfect for Shannahans system, one cut and go.

The receivers I don't if I'm worried about or not. Josh Morgan and Pierre Garcon really don't do much for me. Maybe I'm still jaded from 2005, but Santana Moss is still the receiver I worry about most on that team.

We've beaten the Redskins three straight games, and we're 6-2 over the last 8. But aside from that 17-0 win to close the 2009 season, the margin of victory for the winning team during that stretch has been the following:

6 (7-13 Skins)
2 (24-26 Skins)
3 (33-30 Dallas)
2 (18-16 Dallas)
3 (27-24 Dallas)
1 (7-6 Dallas)
4 (14-10 Dallas)

I could easily see us losing to the Redskins at least once this year.

I could easily see the Giants struggling and not looking like a defending SB Champ (although I said that last year as well).

And I could easily see the Eagles having more problems, or Vick suffering an injury again.

I say they go 8-8. This division is one of the toughest in the league. It'll be competitive.

My phone wont recognize the vote button for some reason. 9-7. One thing that I have learned by watching Griffin for so long is that he will win more than you expect. He has always raised the level of play around him and I expect no different in the NFL. I hated that the skins got him but will be excired to see what he can do.

mediocre to poor secondary, mediocre talent at skill positions and very questionable OL

all that plus a rookie QB learning a pro style system equals bad season IMO

Secondary the same from last year.

Skill position talent improved from last year.

And RGIII is an upgrade over Rex Grossman or John Beck.

They took us to the wire twice last year. And they beat the Giants as well. There's no way they go 6-10 or worse, IMO.

You're blinded by hate.

Long term RGIII will probably be far better than Grossman or Beck, but it might take some time. There certainly is no guarantee he will be good or even average this year.

It isnt the same secondary, and the best player they had back their (Landry) is gone. Even with him it wasnt that good. Do like their front 7 though.

I honestly think they will stink offensively. Good thing RGIII has great feet and running ability, because he is going to need it.

No... you're just a blind fan. Can't give credit where it's due. You hate your rivals, so you lack objectivity/credibility.

You minimize Cowboys negatives, and harp on rival negatives.

It's cool though. Nothing wrong with being a super fan.

Right, this is what I always do

Rollseyes thing

Just dont agree with you on the Skins at all. Am not seeing any vast improvement on their offense (at least not in the short term) and their OL and secondary look like major question marks to me. I also think they gave up way too much to move up for RGIII

They will probably be tough defensively for alot of teams because of how good their front 7 could be again, but I dont see them scoring alot of points and see them struggling to win 6 games

GIANTS WORST SB CHAMPS EVA!!!!!

.

Other than the Redskins strike championship teams, who would you even remotely try to argue otherwise as the "Worst Super Bowl Champ ever"

It isnt even close. Record wise. Stat wise. Eye ball the team on the field wise. It just aint close.

Par for the course.

Yep. At least embrace your role.

Not true. Atogwe and Landry are no longer there. That's two starters, both were lousy, but are their replacements any better?

Skill position talent improved from last year.

That's debatable. Garcon doesn't have a Reggie Wayne to take pressure off of him. And Josh Morgan... meh. They got rid of their leading WR in Gaffney. And Moss... aside from 2005, how much of a factor has he really been? I think for that purpose the Redskins are holding onto Moss and hoping he recaptures that form.

And RGIII is an upgrade over Rex Grossman or John Beck.

Is he? Certainly athletically he is an upgrade. But he's still a rookie, and he played in a spread offense in college nothing like a pro style, and he played in a conference that is not particularly known for defense. But I guess pointing these things out makes one a hater.

You notice as to how RGIII is generating all the hype and Luck is not? The Colts are building their team the correct way. The same recipe they applied to Manning. They are not expecting to win NOW like the Redskins, and because of that, that can be their [Redskins] undoing.

They took us to the wire twice last year. And they beat the Giants as well. There's no way they go 6-10 or worse, IMO.

Miles Austin didn't play in either of those games. Jenkins was out in the last game. And Romo had broken ribs the first game, and then the refs... yet the Redskins still could not seal the deal. But I guess it would be unreasonable to think the game would have not been so close had he played.

You're blinded by hate.

Another blinded by hate.

Laz you can give the Redskins some credit. No one from the Redskins ESPN boards even visits this place anymore. They won't see.

Any of you that have the Redskins going 9-7... have any of you LOOKED at the schedule, instead of just randomly pulling numbers out of your ass?

@ New Orleans
@ St. Louis
Cincinnati
@ Tampa Bay
Atlanta
Minnesota
@ New York
@ Pittsburgh
Carolina
Philadelphia
@ Dallas
New York
Baltimore
@ Cleveland
@ Philadelphia
Dallas

Sorry, but I don't see 9 wins on that schedule. I'm not convinced about the Giants, but they will not sweep them again.
Seriously. Take a look at those teams on that schedule, and then... close your eyes and think about the Redskins' secondary, and imagine them up against those teams' QBs and WRs/TEs.

Why would you want to bukake another man?

I mean, it's cool if you swing that way and all. I won't judge.

Hey, props on that whole Green Hornet thing, btw.

They have the same schedule we have. Save for two easier games.

But yeah, they're totally screwed while were 12-4 juggernaut!!!!

That is 8 right there, if they beat the Eagles once that is 9. They could beat the Ravens, Atlanta at Home too or the Saints on the road, if the Payton lose effects them more than some think. I am worried Dallas is last in the division honestly.
