I don't know. I'm not asking for probowl players at every position. I think it's fair to expect competent protection for your franchise QB, though.

idk either.

90% of Oline snaps the best result you can hope for is a stalemate where your guy gets his guy turned the right direction so the RB has a seam, or that your tackle gets in the way enough to push the rusher past your QB. Not many premier positions along the OL. So most of them end up being throwaway spots where you've got a guy thats good enough to get in the way most of the time, and hopefully not forget the snap count.

are we better off drafting guys or getting cheap free agents to fill these throwaway spots? toss up, but we suck at drafting them.

Unless we are all wrong about romo being great(were not wrong). Then our greatness of qb to team success ratio is the most skewed in the league.

not sure if you mean this year or last. Did the Falcons make the playoffs?

Yes they scored like 2 points in nj.

We have the best active qb w/o a ring. And he hasn't even come close. I can only imagine if/when we have to go find his replacement and our qb play goes from top 6 to middle of the pack

just makes me think the levee has to break sometime. The Saints/Colts/Giants teams aren't better than ours. Just something different happened for them, everything fired at once, luck kicked in role players stepped up. Gotta think eventually that's going to hit for us.

My thing is, without Tony Romo, this is a 4-5 win team, with him in the lineup for 16 games, you have a chance to win every game.

Youd think the focus would be keeping him as clean as possible.

And I agree, if we were going to wait for this team to draft two guards and a center, we'd be waiting a long time. Still, don't sign two nobodies and tell me we're good to go.

Trade a 4th round pick for a decent guard, make center a priority in the offseason. Don't depend on coaching to turn the whole interior of the line around. It's not going to happen.

Im a reasonable guy, I know it doesn't happen in a year, but I also know that every year you try and avoid the inevitable, you're just setting yourself up for failure.

What was the team's record in 2010 after a 1-7 start when Romo went out for the year?

There's no question he is extremely important to the team, but I think some exaggerate it a little in terms of saying there is basically nothing else here other than him. There is a good deal of talent on this team.

I dunno we won some with Kitna. Obviously we're way better with Romo but I also think JG knows how good Romo is and goes into retard mode because of it sometimes. Except when he should, like against New England.

We ignored center. Possibly a really dumb decision. Too early to say these signings we made at guard can't be Kosier-level signings, which is more than good enough. Guess we'll see.

I don't think Carl Nicks makes a 60 million dollar difference, is what I'm saying basically.

So now we can be successful without a good QB.

Bill Callahan is good.

Two Kyle Kosiers and a halfway better defense would put this team in the Super Bowl this year.

I don't buy these two knew guys as being better than even Holland.

Ok, if you were creating your own taco line, would you name it:

A.) The Houk!

or

B.) The Bill .30 Cal

?

I honestly think coaching is so overrated, especially Oline coaching.

Like Sparano caught a world of shit here for being the coach of torrin tucker and puttiti. He's a good coach but you can't make shit not shit.

Biggest thing of importance is that your position coach and coordinator are on the right page and they get the right players for their system and put them in the best position to excel. But they're not going to make anyone any better. Maybe Houck's philosophy didn't match up with JG's but that doesn't make him a bad coach, he just couldn't make the shit we were trotting out there any better.

I wonder if the mere mention of Bill Callahan's name makes other things in life better.

I'm going to test this theory.
