Tony Romo will play Saturday as long as banged-up line can protect him

Tony Romo will start Saturday at San Diego but how long the quarterback plays will be determined by how well the offense is moving the ball and protecting him.

Robert Brewster and Montrae Holland will start at right tackle and left guard with Marc Colombo and Kyle Kosier out with knee injuries. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones has no reservations about Holland has started 48 games in his career but he has some concern about Brewster, who did not play last year as a rookie because of a pectoral muscle.

"I just know he will play," Jones said. "He needs to play and will play. If this is signing off on it, then I will sign off on it."

And if Romo gets hurt in the game, who's to blame?

After a long pause, Jones deadpanned, "Umm, strictly Wade."

But in all seriousness this notion of not playing Romo because of these injuries is just foolish. Holland has experience. He will be OK. With Brewster they can help him with protections and run the ball a little more.

What do you want them to do, forfeit?
