** Players were in helmets and jerseys on Monday after two practices on Sunday in pads. Wade Phillips likes to have his players go at less than full speed when they work on a two-minute drill for the first time and that's what happened Monday.

** Guard Montrae Holland took his first snaps during team drills since suffering a hamstring strain inside the Alamodome. He had been taking part in individual drills the last two days. He could play Saturday vs. San Diego.

** The first team kickoff coverage team looked like this: Alan Ball, Cletis Gordon, Jason Williams, Sean lee, Sam Hurd, Danny McCray, Steve Octavien, Deon Anderson, Kevin Ogletree and Gerald Sensabaugh with David Buehler kicking off.

** Safety Patrick Watkins has started resistance training with associate athletic trainer Britt Brown, which is a sign he is close to returning from his knee injury. He should return to practice Sunday.

** Moments before practice Jerry Jones indicated Tony Romo might miss Monday's practice because the quarterback has had a flu bug, but then Romo appeared and went through every drill. His first throw, however, in team drills sailed high and wide on Miles Austin. He finished the day 20 of 29 including 10 of 12 in the pair of two minute drills.

** It wasn't all perfect for Romo. Rookie Jamar Wall made a leaping, one-handed interception of a throw in the end zone to Patrick Crayton. Earlier he missed Crayton on a deep ball after a defensive breakdown left Crayton 10 yards behind everybody.

** Roy Williams came up with a nice catch on a deep route by extending his 6-4 frame to its fullest after getting by Bryan McCann.

** Patrick Crayton had an excellent session and it started with him beating Orlando Scandrick on a comeback in which he ripped the ball away from Orlando Scandrick.

** Miles Austin had a shoestring grab of a Romo throw in which he appeared the grab the back-side of the ball just before it hit the ground. Later he took in a post route from Romo after rookie safety Barry Church followed Witten too far to create a small opening.

** Jason Williams will be seeing seam routes in his sleep. Twice in the two-minute drill he had decent coverage on Jason Witten only to see both passes go by his ear for a touchdown and long gain for Jason Witten.

** Jason Garrett was as demonstrative as he has been on the field. He was encouraging everybody, but especially running backs Marion Barber and Felix Jones to finish their runs.

** Jones had what might be his best route on a two-minute drill throw from Jon Kitna. He pushed hard to the inside and smoothly came back outside, leaving Bradie James in his wake for a nice pickup. But he finished that drive by not getting out of bounds on a swing route to keep the clock running.

** Jason Hatcher might be getting healthier. He has played the last two-plus weeks with an elbow injury but he came up with a sack of Kitna coming up the middle almost untouched.

** Anthony Spencer was limping after an incomplete screen pass but the linebacker did not miss a snap.

** New tight ends Jason Pociask and DajLeon Farr had drops on back to back plays in red zone work.

** Replay would have been in use on a Martellus Bennett catch (or no catch) down the seam on Keith Brooking. The veteran linebacker was able to break up the pass initially but as Bennett went to the ground it looked as if Bennett was able to keep possession.
