Former Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann took some shots at Tony Romo and Jerry Jones during a Tuesday radio interview.
On Friday, Jones responded.
Theismann was most critical of Romo, telling Sportsnet 590 The Fan in Toronto that the Cowboys signal-caller “isn’t a very good quarterback,” “makes bad decisions with the football” and “has too many bad games.”
He then called out Jones, criticizing the Cowboys owner and general manager for making poor decisions because he’s “not a football guy.”
“You have to ask yourself, ‘Is the owner holding back this football team with football decisions?’ And I think yes. I really do,” Theismann said. “I think Jerry Jones is so emotionally involved in this game that he can’t make a decision that I think effects this football team positively.”
During an interview on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM], Jones said he didn’t have anything to say in response to those comments, but then followed with, “That’s Joe.”
“I’ve had him critique us before and those weren’t necessarily on point,” Jones added, “so I really don’t have any comment on that.”
