** The players went through a light practice without helmets as they prepared for Saturday's game against San Diego . Wade Phillips wants to make sure the players have fresh legs for the game.

** While the rest of the first-team offense watched the defense get some work during practice, offensive line coach Hudson Houck put Robert Brewster through some paces on the side with him starting Saturday at right tackle.

** The TV show 60 Minutes was following Jerry Jones around the practice field and conducting an interview for a story on the Cowboys in the future. Jones spent and extended period of time signing autographs for the first time. He had not done that much since undergoing shoulder surgery.

** Martellus Bennett and Terence Newman worked on their handstands after practice. Newman had the better of the competition.

** Bennett had a nice catch on a back shoulder fade from Tony Romo during the walkthrough that drew some oohs and aahs from the crowd.

** Linebacker Anthony Spencer took part in the walkthrough and said afterward his shoulder was a little sore but it will not keep him out of Saturday's game.

** Felix Jones did not attend Thursday's practice so he could attend a funeral. He is expected to join the team in San Diego. Tashard Choice missed a practice earlier in camp because of a funeral.
