Due to the recent death of his mother, former Cowboys receiver Keyshawn Johnson will not be on ESPN NFL Countdown Sunday morning

Vivian Jessie, the mother of former Cowboys receiver Keyshawn Johnson, passed away last week.

Johnson, who now works as a pro football analyst for ESPN, will miss Sunday's NFL Countdown pre-game show in advance of the NFC and AFC title games morning his mother's shocking death.

If you know anything about Johnson you know how important his mother was to him. He was the youngest of six children. He never knew his father and grew up struggling with his mother in Los Angeles.

As a kid he spent time in a homeless shelter as well as living for a spell in the backseat of his mother's car.

Johnson's mother and their life together was his inspiration to get his degree from USC and become a successful businessman as well as a "throw me the damn ball" receiver in the NFL.

He had planned to bring his mother to Dallas-Fort Worth for the upcoming Super Bowl because she has friends and relatives in the area.

Instead he will be funeralizing his mother on Tuesday. Johnson will be back at work with ESPN for the Super Bowl.
