Well Jerry gets sole credit for them loosing last year due to lack of depth so there's that

Yes there was shitty coaching on carrot tops part. But not having the depth at each position is what killed us

Who gets held accountable and for what?

They should have stapled shitted up underwear everywhere throughout the facility.

I agree with this and this is one of the many faults of jeri, he will not empower his coach to enforce this and makes Garrett look like an idiot with no power in the process

I know everyone here hates Garrett but I do think he really believes in this shit but jeri undermines him by forcing guys like Hardy, Rolando, et al on him and then won't give him the power to cut them making Jason impotent in the process (I realize he could take his balls back by telling jeri to fuck off and get fired in the process but he won't)

Even if he had this authority its probably not enough to compensate for his inferior coaching skills and over conservative nature but I think it would help.
Finger hovering over the bowtie button on this one...

Maybe Garrett can't directly cut players, but he could at least give players the Parcells evil eye, he could get in their face and scream at them, he could kick them out of practice, he could take snaps away -- there are any number of things he could do short of taking them off the roster. But he never does.

The idea that he's some hardass who is only restrained by Jerry is fantasy. The guy is as risk averse and non-confrontational as they come.

Whats the bow tie comment supposed to mean?

I didn't say Garrett was a hard-ass, my comments are an indictment on jeri, not an attempt to defend Garrett.

Jeri is the problem, always has been and always will be until he's 6 feet under. You guys somehow believe it will be different if Garrett gets canned. As long as jeri is alive, it will simply be more of the same, a desperate coach willing to check his balls at the alter of jeri and the same shitty environment that has existed since Jimmy left (with a slight reprieve when Parcells was here but will never happen again because jeri has his stadium and piles of fuck you money he uses daily to tell Cowboys fans to fuck off)

I agree on Garrett being uber-conservative but I also think there is some fucked up shit going on behind the scenes. I think there's a good chance Garrett would have cut Hardy and I think he would have passed on Gregory if he had the power but jeri likes an obfuscated environment where things are murky and players are handled with kid gloves and given miles and miles of rope

Im not arguing that Garrett is helpless at the mercy of jeri, he obviously has made the decision to let jeri control his nuts, the point is I think jeri creates an atmosphere where the coach is helpless to exert any kind of fear and giving the "evil eye" wouldn't do jack-shit without the real threat of negative consequences to a player, which I don't believe jeri will allow.

Garrett and Spagnola are becoming indistinguishable by the day, apparently that's what it takes to continue to get a pay check from jeri

Anybody that knows baseball knows that the plate is actually 23" wide. A baseball is 3" and if it hits any part of the black on home plate, on either side, its a strike, so actually Jason didnt really get it right.

How typical of Garrett to use something from another coach. Cant he come up with anything original?

Yeah, it's funny, I heard that story just the other day. Can't even remember where I saw it, but apparently it's been around a long time.

And Garrett also seems to make a lot of baseball references. He should do a Tebow and audition for MLB teams since football isn't really his thing.
