David Moore / Reporter

Dez Bryant, his right foot encased in a walking boot, stood next to receivers coach Ray Sherman throughout the afternoon practice, observing plays he can no longer run because of a high ankle sprain.

Bryant fielded a few questions from reporters on his brief walk back to the locker room once practice was over. The answers were brief as well. Away we go.

Q: Will you be back for the opener against Washington on Sept. 12?
A: "I should be.''

Q: How long will you be out? Four weeks?
A: "There's no telling. There's no telling.''

Q: Are you disappointed?
A: "There's no disappointment. I'm fine. I'm having a good time.''

Q: Is the ankle still sore?
A: "No. I feel great.''

I still don't know what grade the sprain is.

Any significant high ankle sprain will be a lengthy thing. Even when he comes back he won't be near 100% and runs the risk of making it worse.

It's nice that he says he'll be ready, but he doesn't know what he's talking about. He also says the ankle feels great one day after the injury. Which is complete bullshat.
