Dallas Morning News writer David Moore chatted with fans on Monday and answered questions regarding the Dallas Cowboys and their struggles on the field. Here are some highlights:

Why don't the Cowboys just start rebuilding right now instead of waiting till the offseason?

How much can you rebuild during the season? If you made a move now, Phillips' philosophy and personnel would remain in place. The majority of the coaching staff would too, since the assistants a new coach would want with him are under contract elsewhere at the moment.

Rebuilding takes place during the off-season, not in October and November.

Is the reason Tashard Choice isn't getting much play time because he's still in the doghouse for his fumble against Washington?

No doghouse. The Cowboys want to get Felix Jones the ball more and still make sure Marion Barber is part of the offense. The only way to do that, and to utilize the team's weapons in the passing game, is to reduce the number of running backs. Choice is the odd back out.

If the Cowboys continue to lose, will the team try and play some of their younger players? Who would play and which starters would sit?

It's easier to do that in other sports than football. Say the Cowboys are out of the playoff chase. Do you really want to start three rookie offensive linemen who have never started an NFL game and have them protect Romo? Do you sit a Miles Austin to work Jesse Holley or Kevin Ogletree into the lineup?

The younger players on this team, like linebacker Sean Lee and some of this rookie safety class, will probably get a few more snaps as the season progresses if the Cowboys are out of the hunt, but none will be handed a starting job. Those have to be earned during the off-season.

Why do the Cowboys want to keep Marion Barber despite his lack of production?

They like to run him on third and short. They like to have him ram the defense then come back with Jones as a change of pace. The question is, can Barber still be considered a battering ram? And really, how much quickness have we seen from Jones this season?

How has Mike Jenkins not been benched after his poor play and multiple pass interference penalties?

Jenkins is a quality player going through a tough stretch. I don't think benching him is the answer. His penalties have hurt the past two games, but there was no way the receiver could have made the catch on the one he was hit with in the second half Sunday. All cornerbacks get targeted. He has to play his way through it.

Like I said, we have to play the other team and the refs every Sunday.

The sooner Jerry gets on that shit the better.

That one play still pisses me off.

It was clearly an uncatchable ball.

Any higher and he would of needed an elevator to catch it.
