Farr, who was released by San Diego in August, passed his physical and signed a contract Tuesday afternoon. He is expected to practice at Cowboys Stadium on Tuesday night.

To make room for Farr, 6-6, 260 pounds, the Cowboys will released tight end Kevin Brock, who suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's preseason opener vs. the Bengals. Brock will be waived injured and if he's not claimed by any team by 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday, he will revert to the Cowboys injured reserve list. And once he's on IR they can give him an injury settlement.

Update: The team announced on Tuesday they also waived/injured wide receiver Titus Ryan. Ryan broke his left thumb vs. the Bengals. Ryan, who needs surgery, had hoped the club would let him remain on the roster for about four weeks while the thumb heals without surgery. But it was difficult for the Cowboys to devote a roster spot to a wide receiver who has thumb injury.

That's too bad about Ryan, and why do we always rape the Chargers roster?

I would of been happy with Santi.
